NCERT Physics | NCERT |

Physics can be little tricky at times. But with clear concepts and methodological approach, you can ace the section easily. Getting/ Making a handbook that would contain all the formulae to be used in the exam will surely help. It will not only help you remember them but also make you realize the practical conditions and circumstances where they can be applied.

Chemistry is considered to be the branch of science concerned with the substances of which matter is composed, the investigation of their properties and reactions, and the use of such reactions to form new substances.

Like physics, candidates appearing for WBJEE 2018 are expected to have basic understanding of Chemistry as that of class XII. This section will be merged with Physics and must be completed in 2 hours’ duration. Let’s look at the exam pattern for Chemistry in WBJEE 2018:

- Total Marks allotted: 40-60
- Total time to be invested: advisable 30-40 minutes
- Difficulty level: Moderate

Take a quick look at the topics to study in Chemistry for WBJEE 2018

Most Important | Less Important | Least Important |
---|---|---|

Periodic Table | Inorganic Chemistry | Dalton’s Atomic Theory |

Chemical Kinetics | Alkanes,Alkenes,Alkynes | Atomic Mass |

Molar Chemistry | SN1 and SN2 Reactions | Avagadro’s Hypothesis |

XII Chemistry by NCERT | NCERT |

It is advisable to begin with Chemistry section as it consumes less time. Chemistry does not involve heavy calculations and complex problems to be solved. If your concepts about basic chemistry are strong and if you are well informed about rules of Organic Chemistry, you will have to invest less time in the section.

Mathematics is considered as an abstract science of number, quantity, Space and matter. Mathematics is the soul and the most important aspect of engineering studies. Engineering could not be possible or for fun say, imaginable without Mathematics. Anyhow, take a quick look at mathematics pattern for WBJEE 2018.

- Total Questions Asked: 75
- Total Marks Allotted: 100

Mathematics is considered as the toughest section of all as mentioned earlier. It would be advisable to break the topics into three parts as mentioned below:

1.I am best at these

2.Okay. I need a little practice for these

3.I am very bad at it

Dividing topics as per your strength and preparation would help you strategize your preparation in a healthy manner. Writing important formulae, squares, cubes over the wall of your study table will help you register them subconsciously.
