How can I prepare DEST? Can you suggest some strategies?

16 Nov, 2017 18:39
Sakshi Garg Expert

Hi Soumya, In the current scenario, the typing speed should not pose any problem for anybody appearing for DEST. One should monitor their speed by doing a practice within the defined frame while doing a typing speed test. Take a random paragraph and type it as fast as you can, while checking all the spellings, punctuations, tenses, etc. exactly match as they are given in the original text.

On what parameters will I be evaluated in the DEST?

16 Nov, 2017 18:36
Sakshi Garg Expert

Hi Karan, You will be evaluated only on the following two parameters:

  1. Accuracy: i.e. the text typed by you must be a carbon copy of the text provided to you by the authorities.
  2. Typing speed: if you are able to hit greater than or equal to 2000 depressions in 15 minutes or not

Please note If the typing speed is greater but the text typed has errors then your marks will be deducted, so best keep both the constraints of accuracy and typing speed in mind.
