SET 2017 Application form and Exam Dates

SET or Symbiosis Entrance Test is a common test conducted by Symbiosis International University for admission in undergraduate courses. The exam is scheduled on May 7, 2017. SET is mandatory for the 9 participating schools of Symbiosis University. 

Symbiosis Registration is going on. Candidates can apply online on  A candidate can appear for more than 1 paper. The application for Symbiosis Entrance Test is Rs 1500. Note that candidates who wants take admission in health science and engineering courses  using score card of an entrance test other than SET can apply directly to the respective institutes.

SET consists of 5 papers namely- General, Design, Law, Engineering and Health Sciences. It is held in 2 sessions- morning and evening session. In morning session Law and Design paper is conducted. SET 2017 Eligibility

The SET eligibility varies for each programme. Candidates must refer to the eligibility requirements for the relevant course before applying. The detailed SET eligibility for various programmes are provided below.

For B.A., L.L.B. (Hons.) & B.B.A., L.L.B. (Hons.) offered by SLS Pune, Noida and Hyderabad

  • Minimum 45% marks in Class XII from any recognized Board (40% for S.C. /S.T. candidates).
  • Candidates appearing in Class XII can also apply.

For BBA-IT and BCA offered by SCISR

  • Class XII from any stream or equivalent diploma in Engineering / Technology with minimum 50% marks (45% for SC / ST category candidates)

For BBA offered by SCMS Pune

Indian Students:

  • A Pass in Class XII or equivalent course in any discipline from any recognized Board / Council / University
  • Minimum 50% marks for general and 45% marks for SC and ST category in Class XII or equivalent degree

For B.Sc. (Medical Technology) offered by SIHS

  • Pass in Class XII with any two of the following subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Botany, Zoology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Mathematics OR equivalent

For B. Des offered by SID

  • Pass in Class XII (any stream) or equivalent or 10+3 diploma approved by State Board of Technical Education with minimum 50% aggregate marks
  • Candidates appearing for the final examination of 10+2 grade or 10+3 Diploma program may also apply.

For B.A. M.C. offered by SCMS Pune and Noida

  • Pass in Class XII (any stream) or equivalent or 10+3 diploma approved by State Board of Technical Education with minimum 50% aggregate marks (45% for SC/ST)
  • Applicants expecting their 12th results may also apply.

For B.Sc. Nursing offered by SCON

  • Minimum 45% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology (PCB) in Class XII
  • A pass in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English individually
  • For SC/ST or OBC, aggregate of 40% in PCB in Class XII

For B.Sc. Eco Hons offered by SSE

  • Class XII pass from any branch with minimum 50% marks for the general category and 45% for SC/ ST category

For B. Tech offered by SIT

  • Pass in Class 10+2 examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of Chemistry / Biotechnology / Biology / Technical Vocational subject
  • Minimum 45% aggregate marks (40% for reserved category) in the above subjects

For B.A. (Liberal Arts) and B.Sc. (Liberal Arts) offered by SSLA

  • Pass in Class 12 from a recognised Board

SET 2017 Application Form

SET 2017 application process involves registration and payment to preferred institutes under SIU. The step by step process to apply for SET 2017 is provided below:

  • Visit the official website.
  • Register for SET 2017 in order to generate your SET ID.
  • Please note that for Engineering and Health Sciences, it is not necessary to register for SET if the candidate wishes to specify JEE (Main) score. Such candidates can apply directly to their preferred institute.
  • All other candidates must remember to upload the scanned image of their latest photograph in the required format and size, at the time of online registration.
  • Next step is to pay the application fee amount.
  • Fee can be paid using either online or offline methods of payment.
  • Then, the candidate will need to pay the fee amount for the chosen institute before the due date.
  • After successful registration, all eligible candidates will be issued admit cards.

SET 2017 Application Fee

Candidates who wish to apply for SET 2017 must pay an amount of INR 1500 as application fee. It must be noted that this fee amount is non-refundable. Also, the category of the candidates has no effect on the fee amount. Reserved category candidates must also pay the same fee as General candidates.

There is a total of five payment options available to remit the SET 2017 application fee. Three of these are online methods of payment while two are offline options.

Online Mode of Fee Payment

If a candidate chooses to pay the application fee online, he can pay via a Credit card, Net Banking or Indian Bank Net Banking.

Offline Mode of Fee Payment

In order to pay the SET 2017 application fee in offline mode, there are two options available – through cash or using a Demand Draft (DD).

SET 2017 Admit Card

SET 2017 Admit Card will be made available on the official website of SIU. Candidates will be required to log into their accounts and download their hall ticket. It must be noted that admit cards will not be sent to individual candidates by post.

Follow the steps given below to download SET Hall Ticket:

  • Visit the official link.
  • Click on “SET 2017 Admit Card Release”
  • Enter your SET ID and date of birth or password.
  • View and save the admit card.
  • Take a printout of the hall ticket and preserve it carefully.

SET 2017 Exam Pattern

SET exam will have five papers pertaining to different streams. These papers are – General, Law, Engineering, Health Sciences and Design.

In the morning session, Law and Design papers will be conducted. And, in the afternoon session, General, Engineering and Health Sciences will be conducted. Candidate can opt for two papers but they must be in different sessions.

SET 2017 Results

Candidates will be able to check the SET Results on or after May 20, 2017 on the official website.

The merit list will be prepared in order of the marks scored by the candidates. The cut-off for SET 2017 will be decided on the basis of several factors, such as difficulty level of the exam, the number of appearing candidates and the fixed intake for each course.

SET 2017 Counselling

The counselling process will start from June 5, 2017 for SET candidates and from June 12, 2017 for candidates who have applied on the basis of JEE Mains score. The SET counselling process is open to only those candidates whose name is in the merit list.

In order to participate in the counselling process, candidates must be physically present at the reporting centre. There will be further rounds of selection such as GD and PI. After all rounds, have been completed, the finally selected candidates will be allotted seats on the basis of their total score.

Candidates must carry the following documents in original as well two sets of photocopies of the same:

  • Class X marks sheet and qualifying certificate
  • Class XII marks sheet and qualifying certificate
  • SET 2017 Admit Card
  • JEE Main Score Card
  • Migration and School Leaving Certificate
  • Caste certificate

Reservation Policy

SIU offers the provision of reservation for candidates belonging to certain categories. This is in accordance with the UGC guideline 2006. The details of reservation offered by all SIU institutes are given below:

Sir, I am pursuing B.Com from Rajasthan University and will appear in final year exams in march'17. I wish to do LLB thereafter. Is there such course available in symbiosis? and procedure for admission in such course.
