NTSE Form has to be filled in offline mode only from August 03, 2017. Last date to submit the form to the State Liaison Officers is August 31, 2017 or it may vary for different states. NTSE Form is released by National Council of Education Research and Training (NCERT).

Visit the official website of NCERT to check List of Liaison Officers in your state. Also, you can obtain the NTSE Form in offline mode from the State Liaison Officer. Here is a quick synopsis of NTSE Form 2017:

  • NTSE Form has to be filled separately for Stage I and Stage II.
  • Candidates pursuing their education from India can apply for the exam.
  • There is no domicile restriction for candidates applying for NTSE in class X. Students studying in Class X from a recognized school can appear for Stage I conducted by their State/UTs.
  • For General category, candidate must have obtained 40% in each paper is the criteria for qualification. CHECK DETAILED NTSE ELIGIBILITY
  • Obtain the form from the link of each state given below or from the State Liaison Office. Candidates can collect the form from their schools as well.
  • Fill the form correctly in offline mode and submit it before the prescribed date at the State Liaison Office with all the required documents.
  • Paste the passport sized photograph with the required specifications correctly so that the form is not rejected.
  • Application fee may apply for Stage I as per state policies. It must be confirmed while collecting the form.
  • There is no application fee for Stage II.
  • There is no provision of correction of details in the application form once submitted in UT office. Candidates are advised to be careful with the form filling process.

Candidates who have cleared Class X from abroad have to attach Class XI mark sheet with the NTSE Form to prove their eligibility. No documents have to be attached by candidates from India. On successful receipt of the NTSE Form, candidates will receive NTSE Admit Card via post.

NTSE is a scholarship program, where scholarship of Rs.1250 and Rs. 2000 are offered monthly for class 10 +2 examination and graduation respectively. NTSE scheme was introduced to give students of weaker background a chance to study further by offering financial assistance through scholarships.

NTSE Eligibility 2018

NTSE Eligibility for school students:

  • Student must be appearing for class 10 examination from a recognized school.
  • Students who have applied for class 10 through open learning can appear for the NTSE exam.
  • Age must be less than 18 years.
  • All standards from class 1 to class 10 must be cleared.

NTSE Eligibility Criteria for graduation students:

  • Student must be appearing for class XII from a recognized school.
  • Class 11 examination must have been cleared without backlogs.
  • No backlogs in class 12 examination final results declared by CBSE or state boards.
  • Class 10 examinations must have been cleared with a minimum of 60 percent marks.
  • No age limit is defined.

NTSE Eligibility Criteria for Ph.D. students varies with each course. Kindly check the same with UGC.

How to Fill NTSE Form? 

NTSE Form has to be filled in the offline mode only. The application form can only be filled by the students appearing at the State Level NTS Examination conducted by each state/UT.

  • Candidate/ Principal must submit the form directly to the state/UT liaison officer only.
  • Candidate/Principal must deposit the application fee, if any, prescribed by state/UTs with the NTSE Form.
  • Candidate/Principal should leave the 4-Digit Centre code blank, to be filled by the liaison officer / other authorities.

Download NTSE Form

  • Open the official website according to the state or UT.
  • Look for the sub link “NTSE Application Form”.
  • Click on the link and application form is downloaded to your system.
  • State wise link to download the NTSE Form: Every state has its own weblink for the state board. NTSE form is available at the link of state board. The list of links is as follows:

NTSE Form Filling

  • Take a printout of the application form
  • Fill all the details of name, age, district, phone number, etc. as asked by the authorities.

Submitting Application Form

  • Submit the completely filled application form with all details at the UT office.
  • Deposit the form with the principal or UT office. Application fee may be asked by the state center.

How to Fill NTSE Form for Foreign Candidates? 

Special instructions for NTSE Form for Indian students studying abroad:

  • NCERT is not responsible if the state/ UT office asks for any additional documents at time of NTSE exam.
  • Exam will be conducted in different states on different dates, candidate must keep checking the state/ UT website for updates himself.
  • No notification will be sent for the exam dates.
  • If the form is cancelled by state/ UT office, NCERT is not responsible.
  • Applicants are requested to refer/consult the application form, published by the States/ UTs, for caste category reservation. Some options of Caste Category (like OBC, Other 1 and Other 2), given in the form are applicable for the State/ UT only.
  • No reservation is given in the NCERT exam scheme.

Downloading Application Form

  • Go to the official website.
  • Look for “NTSE Form for Indian students studying abroad” link.
  • Open the PDF and download the same to your system, also the NTSE information brochure.

Filling NTSE Application Form

  • Take a print out on the legal (8.5” x 14”) paper.
  • Send the completely filled form along with Class IX-mark sheet to the official address in Delhi.
  • Mention the details of state/UT in India, where you wish to appear for the exam in the covering letter. 

Submitting NTSE Form

  • Put the completely filled application form along with the covering letter in an envelope.
  • Paste the passport size photograph in the place given.
  • Self-attest the photograph.

Documents to Be Attached with NTSE Form 

  • Colored photograph not older than 6 months from the date of form filling.
  • Dark background.
  • No goggles only simple spectacles.
  • No makeup in the photograph clicked for the form.
  • Hair must be properly tied.
  • Photograph must be clicked in school uniform.
  • Indian nationals do not have to produce any document with the application form.
  • Students of Indian origin who are doing class 10 from abroad, have to prove their Indian citizenship, so they have to attach a copy of class 11 mark sheet.
