NMAT Eligibility Criteria 2017

NMAT Eligibility Criteria 2017 mandates a candidate to hold a Bachelor’s Degree with at least 50% aggregate marks in order to apply for the exam. The eligibility criteria for NMAT by GMAC are defined by Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC).

Here are the key highlights of NMAT Eligibility:

  • Final year candidates are also eligible to apply for NMAT. However, they will be offered final admission only after they clear their examination.
  • Candidates with two or more years of work experience will be preferred.
  • A candidate must be below 25 years of age to apply for NMAT.
  • Both Indian and International candidates can apply for NMAT.
  • Foreign Nationals must also hold a Bachelor’s Degree with minimum 50% marks, along with a valid GMAT score of six hundred or above.
  • There is no reservation in NMAT. However, some seats may be reserved for widows, wards of armed forces personnel killed and Kashmiri Migrants in some colleges.

Candidates satisfying the eligibility criteria can proceed towards NMAT Registration. The registration window is open from July 4 to October 3, 2017. Make sure you pay the requisite exam fee and upload documents to be able to appear in NMAT 2017. The exam will be conducted between the first week of October to the third week of December 2017.

Note-
1. The eligibility requirements in NMAT vary institute-wise. Test takers are advised to check the websites of each university and school where they plan to apply.
2. If a candidate is found to be ineligible for the desired course, no refund of his test fee will be made.


Course-Wise NMAT Eligibility 2017

The eligibility criteria for NMAT 2017 for different courses are as follows:

MBA (Mumbai Campus)

  • Applicants must have a full-time Bachelor’s degree (10+2+3/4) from a recognized University in any discipline with a minimum aggregate of 50% marks in first the attempt.
  • Candidates who have completed their graduation through a part-time, distance learning or correspondence course are not eligible to apply.

MBA HR [Mumbai Campus (selection process for this is separate)]

  • Applicants must have a full-time Bachelor’s degree (10+2+3/4) from a recognized University in any discipline with a minimum aggregate of 50% in first the attempt.
  • Candidates who have completed their graduation through a part-time or distance learning or correspondence course are not eligible to apply.

MBA Pharmaceutical Management [Mumbai Campus (selection process for this is separate)]

  • Applicants must have a full-time Bachelor’s degree (10+2+3/4) from a recognized University in Pharmacy, Life Science, MBBS, BDS, Science, BAMS, BHMS, B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Biotechnology with a minimum aggregate of 50% marks in the first attempt.
  • Candidates having a post-graduate degree in Psychology, Sociology and Economics may also apply.
  • Applicants with a B.Tech or B.E in Bio-Tech. or Bio-Medical may also apply.
  • Candidates who have completed their graduation through a part-time or distance learning or correspondence course are not eligible to apply.
  • Candidates working in pharmaceutical companies for more than two years are preferred.

PGDM 

  • Applicants must have a full-time Bachelor’s degree (10+2+3/4) from a recognized University in any discipline with a minimum aggregate of 50% marks in first attempt.
  • Candidates who have completed their graduation through a part-time or distance learning or correspondence course are not eligible to apply.

NMAT Eligibility 2017 for International Candidates

International applicants can also apply for their choice of course (s) via NMAT. The detailed eligibility criteria for the same are described below in the following points:

  • Any international candidate willing to apply must have a full-time Bachelor degree (10+2+3/4) in any discipline from any recognized University with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate in the first attempt.
  • The applicants must also have valid a GMAT score of six hundred and above (the GMAT score for last three years up to October 2017 will be taken into consideration).
  • International candidates having more than 2 years of post qualification experience will be preferred.
  • All the admissions for international candidates is subject to them getting clearance from the candidate’s government (if required) and a student visa from the Indian Embassy in the candidate’s country.

Key Points for NMAT Eligibility 2017

Apart from the eligibility criteria as mentioned before in the article, given below are some important points to remember and other important instructions regarding the eligibility requirements and criteria for NMAT 2017. The applicants are advised to go through the following before filling NMAT Registration.

  • For candidates who have completed their graduation from overseas Universities, AIU certificate is mandatory.
  • Reservation of seats for the widows/wards of armed forces personnel killed/disabled in action or during peace time and wards of Kashmiri migrants will be applicable for those candidates who have successfully met the desired cut-offs and other eligibility requirements of the respective course /s applied for at the time of registration and also meet the NMAT cut off.
  •  For all full time courses, candidates who are currently appearing for the final examination of their Bachelor’s degree are also eligible to apply. In such a case, provisional admission shall be granted.
  • Provisional admission is however, subject to clearing the final examination of his/her Bachelor’s degree with at least fifty percent aggregate in marks. Candidates who are selected are required to produce all the necessary documents, in original, within the stipulated time.
  • Candidates with two and more years of post-qualification work experience will be preferred for all the full-time programs offered.
  • It must be noted by the candidates that they must have appeared for all their subject(s) / exams before the commencement of the respective course of NMIMS. No examination should be held after the commencement of the applied course.
  • At the time of admission, candidates are required to produce semester-wise/trimester-wise/consolidated (if individual mark sheets are not issued by University/Institute) mark sheets of all years from the college he/she has graduated from.
  • In a case of internet/printed copies of mark sheets, attestation of the same by the Principal with the official seal is mandatory/required, without which it will not be accepted.
  • Candidates who have passed or have appeared for their graduation examination from a University where Grade Point Average system is followed, are then required to produce the equivalent percentage for the GPA/CGPA obtained in writing from the concerned University.

NMAT Registration 2017

  • NMAT 2017 Registration can be done between July 04, 2017 - October 03, 2017.
  • NMAT Application Form can only be filled online.
  • Candidates planning to register for NMAT 2017 should visit the official website i.e. nmat.org.in.
  • The steps for NMAT Registration are mentioned below:

NMAT Registration

  1. Visit the official website of NMAT.
  2. Create an account with a valid email address.
  3. Provide contact information, personal, educational and work experience, the list of programs to send scores, and the ID that you will use at the test center.
  4. Enter your name and date of birth exactly as indicated on the primary and secondary ID.
  5. Select schools where you wish to send your result. This will be under the "Programme Details" section.
  6. Select up to 7 programs which is included in their registration fee. Additional fee of INR 200 + applicable taxes is applicable for each program added over and above 7 programs.
  7. The photograph must have resemblance to the candidate and to the photograph on the primary ID. This photograph is included on the admit card.
  8. Pay the registration fee.
