NATIONAL LEVEL OFFLINE TEST
DAT Prelim result for B.Des. and GDPD will be available in the month of February 2018. Candidates can check NID 2018 Result at the official website of NID – www.nid.edu. A merit list on the basis of DAT score will be prepared for all the categories (General, OBC-NCL, SC, ST & PH).
Shortlisted candidates will be invited for the studio test and personal interviews. The final merit list which will be declared in last week of May 2018 shall be prepared on the basis of marks obtained by candidates in DAT, studio test and personal interview.
NID 2018 offers admission to qualified aspirants in several undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the field of design. The exemplary candidate will acquire admittance depending on their accomplishment in the Design Aptitude Test (DAT), Studio Test and Personal Interview.
NID 2018 will be conducted in two stages for M.Des, B.Des and GDPD- DAT Prelims, comprising of written test. Those who qualify in written test will be called for Studio Test and Personal Test. The result dates for both the stages have been mentioned below:

The results for DAT Prelims for B.Des. and GDPD will be published on the official website roughly around February 2018. Based on DAT score, a merit list will be prepared for shortlisted candidates who will, then, be invited for further rounds of screening called the studio test and personal interviews. The final merit list is generally declared in the last week of May. The candidates can follow the below steps to check their results online:
NID 2018 Cut Off will be announced soon after the results are declared. The candidates who score over the cut off will get admission in degree courses in NID Gandhinagar, Bengaluru, Ahmedabad and in NID Kurukshetra and Vijayawada for Graduate Diploma Programs in Designs (GDPD). The scores of the last applicants in the first merit list will be considered as the cut off for NID 2018. There will be some relaxation in the cut off for categories with reservations, which is as follows:

National Institute of Design generally conducts counselling during the months of June and July offering admissions into four year Bachelor of Design (B.Des.) program. Counselling of NID DAT is held after the three stages of selection process are completed, Stage 1- Design Aptitude Test (DAT), Stage 2- Studio Test and Stage 3- Personal Interview. The entitlement to admission will not be guaranteed only on the basis of appearance in the entrance test or being in the rank list.
The results of NID DAT Prelims is generally announced in the month of February every year. The shortlisted candidates will be required to appear for Mains exam to be conducted in the month of May 2018. Final Merit List of NID DAT will be released in the same month i.e. fourth week of May 2018. This is followed by the NID DAT counselling procedure which is held for selected candidates on merit basis.
After online verification of documents, the shortlisted candidates in rank list will be allotted seats provisionally. To be eligible for the next stage of NID 2018 admission process, the qualified candidates will be required to submit their consent online (only). The process for submitting Online Consent starts somewhere around last week of May 2018 and would last for about a week up to June 2018. The merit list updation continuously happens during that time on the basis of online consent submitted by the qualified candidates.
For the purpose of verification, the qualifying candidates, as per the first Merit List, would be required to upload scanned copies of requisite documents. All the relevant documents must be issued in the name of qualifying candidate. The scanned copies of original documents should be strictly in JPEG format only.
Uploaded documents will be verified from the information entered in the NID 2018 Application Form and any discrepancy would lead to cancellation of candidature. Below is the list of relevant documents for which scanned copies have to be uploaded by the qualified candidates for B.Des. and M.Des. Programs (for all categories):
OBC NCL/SC/ST category candidates have to submit valid category certificates which should be issued by appropriate competent authorities in addition to the above.
The scanned copies of the first and last page of Passport and of Equivalence certificate should be uploaded by the Overseas category candidates (both B.Des.or M.Des programs), in addition to the ones mentioned.
