UPTET 2018 Exam Pattern

UPTET 2018 Exam Pattern will be released by UPBEB (Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Board) and applicants will know about the number of questions, syllabus and marks distribution through it.

There will be two papers for UPTET 2018.  Paper 1 for candidates applying for the position of primary level teachers (class 1 to class 5) and Paper 2 for candidates applying for the position of primary level teachers (class 6 to class 8). Any candidate who is applying for both the job positions should sit for both the papers.   

  • The exam will be conducted by UPBEB in December 2017
  • It is an offline mode of examination
  • 150 Multiple choice questions of 1 mark each
  • No negative marking
  • 90 minutes time for completion
  • Consists of 2 papers
  • Paper 1 for class 1 to class 5 teachers
  • Paper 2 for class 6 to class 8 teachers
  • The subjects include Pedagogy, Hindi, English/Urdu/Sanskrit, Mathematics, Science and Environmental Studies.

UPTET (Uttar Pradesh Teachers Eligibility Test) will be conducted to recruit eligible candidates for the posts of teachers at the primary and upper primary level in Government schools of Uttar Pradesh. The exam will be conducted in December 2018 for aspiring teachers in the state of Uttar Pradesh.

UPTET 2018 Exam Pattern in Detail

UPTET 2018 will comprise 2 papers. Each paper comprises 5 sections of different subjects. There are altogether 150 questions of multiple choice type, carrying 1 mark each and there is no negative marking for wrong questions.

UPTET 2018 Marking scheme

UPTET 2018 Paper 1 comprises 5 sections of 30 marks each. Total marks distribution for this paper is 150. Each question will score 1 mark and there is no negative marks for incorrect answers.

UPTET 2018 Paper 2 consists of 150 questions each carrying 1 mark. There is no negative marking. 3 sections in the paper comprises 30 questions each and 1 section will have 60 questions. Mathematics and Science section is for Maths and Science teachers whereas Social Science section is for Social Science teachers. Other subject teachers may opt any one of them.

Important Instructions

Instructions given below, as mentioned in the admit card, has to be followed by candidates strictly on the exam day:

  • Candidates need to reach the venue at least half an hour before the scheduled exam time
  • Candidates need to take UPTET 2018 Admit Card to the examination center, failing of which, they won’t be allowed to sit for the exam.
  • Candidates are also asked to carry with them a valid identity proof, like as aadhar card, pan card, driving license.
  • UPTET is a pen and paper exam. Candidates are needed to carry atleast 2 pens with them. Use comfortable pens.
  • No mobile phones, pagers, calculators, and other electronic gadgets are allowed inside the examination hall.
  • Manage time properly.
  • Read the question carefully and tick the answer which you think is right. The answer once ticked cannot be erased.
  • Attempt the critical questions after completing the easy ones.
