CBSE UGC NET 2017 Answer Key to be released soon

CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education) is expected to release the answer key of CBSE UGC NET Jan 2017 next week. Candidates can check the CBSE UGC NET 2017 answer key on the official website. Once the answer key is released, candidates will have to click on the relevant link and enter details to login. After logging in, candidates can check the official answer keys. With the help of answer keys, candidates will be able to analyze their performance in the exam. A large number of candidates appeared for the CBSE UGC NET 2017 on Jan 22. The exam was conducted at various centers across the nation.

Candidates can check their results once the merit list is published. Candidates must score UGC NET cut-off marks to qualify the exam. To prepare UGC NET merit list, the aggregate marks obtained in all 3 papers by each candidate is taken into consideration. Top 15% candidates (for each subject and category) from the merit list will be declared to be UGC NET qualified for Assistant Professor only.

CBSE UGC NET Paper I judge the candidates on the basis of their teaching/research aptitude, whereas Paper-II judges the candidates on the basis of subjective knowledge of the candidates.

UGC NET Answer key is provided so that candidate can check it against their answer sheets and get an idea of how much they will score in the exam. Answer key contains the solutions of all the questions asked in the examination. It will give you a fair idea about the result. The expected score calculated by the candidate with the help of answer key enables them to determine the chances of admission in the preferred college. In case, any discrepancy in the answer key, candidates can also challenge it by sending a valid proof before the specified last date.


How to download CBSE UGC NET 2017 Answer Key?

CBSE UGC NET December 2016 paper 1 exam consisted of 4 sets- W, X, Y & Z. To obtain CBSE UGC NET official answer keys, candidates are required to follow certain steps. The steps are mentioned below:

  1. Visit UGC NET official website at cbsenet.nic.in
  2. Under important links tab, select December-2016
  3. Click on the link, Answer Key Paper 1 to download the UGC NET answer key
  4. Answer keys for Paper 1, 2 & 3 in pdf format will appear on the screen
  5. Select your corresponding set and estimate the scores by comparing the actual answers.

Discrepancy in CBSE UGC NET 2017 Answer Key

The candidates, who are not satisfied with the captured response, may challenge by filling online application form by paying a sum of INR 1000/- per question. The challenge of CBSE NET Answer Key 2017 will be accepted online only through the link available on the official website on payment of applicable fee. The fee can be paid by credit / debit card or e-challan. In case the challenge of any candidate regarding captured images of response sheets (OMR sheets) / Answer Key is accepted; the fee will be refunded to such candidates against the accepted challenge. In all other cases the fee once paid will not be refunded.

In case the UGC NET Answer Key 2017 is found to be incorrect, the CBSE will process the result in the light of changed key and qualify the additional candidates for JRF and / or Eligibility for Assistant Professor. However, the result of previously qualified candidates of JRF and / or eligibility for Assistant Professor will remain unchanged.

No grievances with regard to answer key (s) after declaration of result of NET Jan, 2017, will be entertained.


CBSE UGC NET 2017 Cutoff

In order to be considered for merit list preparation, a candidate must score the minimum qualifying marks in each paper. However, scoring the minimum qualifying marks does not ensure qualification in UGC NET 2017. The final cut off for each subject will be decided by CBSE. CBSE UGC NET 2017 Result

Candidates who satisfy the above criteria (clearing cut off marks), a merit list will be prepared subject-wise and category-wise using the aggregate marks of all the three papers secured by such candidates.

The results for UGC NET exam will be declared on the official CBSE website according to the schedule. Candidates can check their results once the merit list has been published.

Qualifying Criteria

Candidates must obtain the minimum cut-off marks to qualify the exam. From among the candidates who successfully secure the minimum marks, a merit list will be prepared, both subject-wise and category-wise. For this purpose, the aggregate marks obtained in all three papers by each candidate will be taken into consideration.

The top 15% candidates (for each subject and category) from the merit list will be declared to be NET qualified for eligibility for Assistant Professor only. Now, a separate merit list for Junior Research Fellowship will be prepared from amongst these NET qualified candidates using the following formula:

No. of candidates selected under General category for JRF in a subject = [(No. of candidates who have opted for JRF and are qualified for eligibility for Assistant Professor in that subject) X (No. of slots available under General category)] / (Total No. of General candidates who have opted for JRF and are qualified for eligibility for Assistant Professor)

The same formula will be used for other categories as well.
