SSC CHSL Tier 1 2017 Jan 23 Paper Analysis & Answer Key

SSC CHSL Tier I 2017 is still in process. The Written Exam for SSC CHSL started from January 7, 2017 and would be conducted till February 5, 2017.  The Exam was conducted on January 23, 2017 in 3 slots for duration of 75 minutes each. This examination is held on an annual basis to filter eligible candidates for posts of Lower Division Clerk (LDC) and Data Entry Operator (DEO).

SSC will release Combined Higher Secondary Level exam answer keys once all exams are over of Tier I. The last date of exams is 8th February 2017. Hence Staff Selection Commission is looked forward to releasing answer keys by end of February 2017.

The day trigger off in multiple shifts and the candidate who are able to crack CHSL Preliminary Examination will be called for the Mains Paper. SSC CHSL Tier I Jan 23 exam had a Moderate difficulty level. If you make 78-82 number of attempts, you will be able to surpass the cutoff marks easily. There are 4 sections in SSC CHSL Tier I examination namely General Intelligence, Quantitative Aptitude, General Awareness and English Language. Time limit for online examination was 75 minutes with 25 question per section and each question carries 2 marks.

CHSL Tier I -  General Intelligence

As expected, this section was riddled with a lot of confusing questions. The difficulty level of this section was Easy. This section contained 25 questions. To surpass cutoff marks, 21-23 number of safe attempts can be considered.

The highest number of question came from Number / Alphabet series which were easy in level. Maximum number of questions came from the topics like logical reasoning, direction sense, and blood relations. The level of difficulty for these topics was easy to moderate. There were 2 miscellaneous questions which were easy in difficulty.

CHSL Tier I – Quantitative Aptitude

Similar to previous days, a significant portion was from Arithmetic. The difficulty level of this section was Moderate. 17-19 number of safe attempts can be considered enough to surpass cutoff marks.

Aspirants can easily score in the topics like Data interpretation as the highest number of question came from it and were easy. Maximum number of question came from coordinate geometry, averages & percentages, and speed & distance. These topics were easy to moderate in level. There were 10-12 miscellaneous questions which were moderate in nature.

CHSL Tier I – English Language

The difficulty level of this section was Moderate. This section contained 25 questions which was of 50 marks. An average attempt of 18-21 number of questions considered enough to surpass cutoff marks.

This section tests the Basic English knowledge of aspirants. The highest number of question came from Antonyms & Synonyms, and Cloze test which were easy to moderate in nature. Aspirants could score easily in the topics like spelling, sentence / para jumbles, and error spotting / sentence correction as they were easy.

CHSL Tier I – General Awareness

The bulk part of SSC CHSL General Awareness section was covered by Current & Static Knowledge. The total number of question in this section was 25 which consisted of 50 marks. Each correct response carried 2 marks. Safe attempts for this section were 20-21 out of 25 questions.

The difficulty level of this section was Easy. The highest number of questions came from Science & Technology which was moderate in nature. The topics which asked majorly were from history, economy & finance, geography, politics & civics, and computer which were easy to moderate in nature. Whereas the minimum number of question came from abbreviations which was of easy level.
