NATIONAL LEVEL ONLINE/OFFLINE TEST
Staff Selection commission conducts the SSC CHSL (Combined Higher Secondary Level Examination) every year to select the candidates for various government organizations. This examination is held on the state level in two parts on various centres allotted by SSC. This is held in order to recruit candidates for the post of Data Entry Operator (DEO), Lower Division Clerk (LDC), Sorting Assistant, Court Clerk, and Postal Assistant.
Application forms for the exam will be released in the month of August 2018, last date being September 2018. The exam will be held in the month of November. The whole process will be over with the release of the final result in the month of May, 2018.
Candidates who have passed the senior secondary school examination from any recognized board, are eligible to apply for the examination. Candidates who are willing to apply for the SSC CHSL Exam 2018 necessarily need to fulfill the eligibility criteria set by SSC. As per the eligibility criteria, candidates must have completed the required qualification and he must have the required age as decided by the commission.
Given below are the eligibility criteria one should fulfil to be able to apply SSC CHSL 2018.
Nationality – A candidate must be an Indian Citizen/ From Nepal / Bhutan / A Tibetan refugee who have come to India before 1st January, 1962 to settle in India permanently. Except Indian citizen, all should require a document in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the government of India.
Educational Criteria – Candidates who have cleared class 12th or its equivalent degree from a recognized educational board or University, are permitted to apply.
Age Criteria– Minimum & maximum age of an aspirant should be 27 years, however certain reserved category candidates can claim for reservation according to the Government norms.

SSC CHSL 2018 Application form will have to be submitted online through the official website of the SSC. Candidates shall have to make the online registration of their application form by providing all the necessary details in the application form.

All SSC CHSL aspirants must keep in mind that their application form is accessible through online mode only.
Candidates will have to make a payment of INR 100. However, candidates falling under Female/SC/ST/PH categories are not required to make any payment.
Candidates can do the payment with the help of debit card, credit card, net banking or through SBI bank challan.
After the SSC CHSL Application Form 2018 is submitted online by candidates, they will get an acknowledgement mail that their application form has been accepted. After the acknowledgement, candidates will be issued the Admit Card for the examination almost 2-3 weeks before the SSC CHSL Exam 2018 is conducted.
Important points for Admit Cards:
The selection procedure for SSC CHSL consists of 3-4 tiers depending upon the post one applies for. Candidates need to clear each round to qualify. Tier-1 is a comparatively easy exam in comparison to Tier-2. Details of the rounds are given below.
SSC CHSL Selection Procedure
Tier 1: Written exam of 200 marks (All questions will be objective type only). The subjects covered in this round are
Tier 2: It is a descriptive test of Essay writing/letter writing which is of 100 marks. This is conducted in the offline mode.
Typing Test/Skill Test: For candidates who get qualifying marks in Tier 2 exam.
Typing Test: 35 words per min is necessary for English typing, whereas, 30 words per min in case of Hindi typing. An exam to type 2000 key depressions for a duration of 15 minutes is conducted.
Skill Test: Candidates’ data entry speed should be 8000 key depressions per hour on computer.

There will be two stages of the examination, the written examination and the skill test.
The written examination shall comprise of multiple choice questions (MCQs)
1/4th marks of the total marks allotted to the question will be deducted as penalty for every wrong answer.
Questions in the examination will be from various topics viz. General Intelligence, English Language, General Awareness and Quantitative Aptitude.

Candidates must obtain the equal or more than SSC CHSL 2018 cutoff marks in order to qualify in the exam. Candidates who belongs to reserved category can get relaxation of cutoff marks in compared to general category candidates.
