NATIONAL LEVEL ONLINE/OFFLINE TEST
KVPY 2018 (Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana 2018) is a national level examination conducted by the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. KVPY 2018 is conducted to provide scholarship up to pre-Ph.D level to the selected candidates.
KVPY 2018 Results are expected to be out by the first week of December 2018. Selection Process i.e. the interview round is going to be held in the third week of January 2018. Final selection will be based on the aptitude test & personal interview conducted by IISc.
KVPY 2018 is a national level fellowship programme and thousands of students from all over the India appear for it. The important highlights of KVPY 2018 is given below: -

IISC will issue the official notification to fill KVPY 2018 Application Form in the second week of July 2018. The last date of submitting the application form will be the second week of August 2018. Admit Card will be available from the second week of October 2018. KVPY 2018 Examination will be conducted in the first week of November 2018.

Before applying for KVPY 2018 Exam, all candidates must be aware of the eligibility criteria set by the conducting body. It is compulsory for all the candidate to meet the eligibility criteria to apply for the application form. After clearing the eligibility criteria applicant can apply for the application form.
Here are the Eligibility Criteria of KVPY 2018: -
• Candidate must be a citizen of India.
For SA Stream:
• Candidates studying in Class XI (Science stream) can apply in this stream.
• Candidates must have passed class X with Mathematics & Science subjects.
• A candidate must have secured a minimum of 80% marks in aggregate (70% marks for SC/ST/PwD).
For SX Stream:
• Candidates, those have studied in class XII (Science Stream) can apply in this stream.
• Candidate must have passed the above-mentioned class with Mathematics & Science subjects (PCB).
• Candidates have to score a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate in Science subjects(PCB) in Class XII (50% for SC/ST/PwD).
• Candidates must have obtained at least 80% marks in aggregate in class X (70% marks in case of SC/ST/PwD).
For SB Stream:
• Candidates who have enrolled in the first year of the UG programme in Basic Science courses (Physics/Chemistry/Mathematics & Biology) leading to B.Sc/BS/B.Math./B.Stat. /MS/Int. M.Sc can apply for this exam.
• Candidates must have at least 60% marks in aggregate in 10+2 examination (50% marks in case of SC/ST/PwD category).
• Candidates also have to pass their first year of graduation final examination & secure at least 60% marks (50% marks for SC/ST/PWD).
The application process for KVPY 2018 will start in the second week of July 2018. KVPY 2018 Registration can be done through online mode only. Candidates need to have a working mobile number and an email ID. Candidates will receive his/her username and password via email.
They must also have scanned images of their passport size photograph, signature and caste/medical certificates before filling KVPY Application Form. Applicants are advised to take a printout of their completed application right after they have completed the application process.

The KVPY 2018 application fee for General/OBC candidates is INR 1000 while for SC/ST/PwD candidates it is INR 500. The application fee can be paid via Credit Card/Debit Card or through Net Banking. An e-Challan can also be downloaded from the official website of KVPY 2018. The Fee once paid in non-refundable under any circumstances.
Candidates will have to download their KVPY 2018 Admit card from the official website in the second week of October 2018. To download the Admit card, candidates need to enter his/her username and password. Admit card will contain the name of the candidate, roll number, exam center venue, exam date & time, category, etc.
Candidate should keep their Admit card with them during the examination along with the photo identity card as identity proof of the candidate so that they won’t face any problem while giving the exam.
Steps to download the KVPY 2018 Admit card are given below: -
Candidates will have to submit their choice for the exam center while filling the application form of KVPY 2018. IISC will allot the test center based on the preference of candidates and availability of test centers. Once the center is allotted it will not be changed.

IISC will conduct KVPY 2018 Exam in online or offline mode. The question paper will be in both English & Hindi language. The question paper will be of the objective type and the total time duration is 180 minutes. The question paper will be of 100 marks. KVPY 2018 question paper is divided into two parts:
In PART I, one mark will be awarded for every correct answer while 0.25 marks will be deducted for each incorrect answer. In PART II, two marks will be given for each correct answer while 0.5 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.

Candidates are tested based on his/her understanding and analytical ability. Questions are asked from the syllabus of Class X/XII/First year of B.Sc/B.Math. /Int.M.Sc./M.S. as applicable. Students are advised to prepare these sections thoroughly. Aspirants can also practice the previous year’s question papers to get an idea about the kind of questions asked.
Results of KVPY 2018 will be announced by IISC in the first week of December 2018 through online mode. Candidates will be shortlisted for further selection process after the declaration of result.
Steps to check KVPY 2018 Result are given below: -
IISC will publish separate merit list for every stream separately based on the candidates’ performance in the written test. Ranking of the merit list will be in the descending order of total marks scored in the written exam. Merit List will be available category-wise, mentioning names and application numbers of qualifying candidates. The shortlisted candidates in the written exam will be shortlisted for KVPY 2018 Selection Process. Candidates will be informed and will be called for the interview round.
The cutoff list will be published by the Indian Institute of Science after the result declaration. KVPY 2018 cut-off will be released through online mode. The qualifying marks to clear the KVPY exam is given below:

Candidates will be called for the selection procedure on the basis of their performance in the KVPY 2018 written Test. The selection process will include interview round. The interview round will be held in the third week of January 2019.
Candidates will be informed about interview dates, time & venue through email/website. After the successful completion of the entrance exam & interview round, the scholarship will be provided to the successful candidates.
