NATIONAL LEVEL OFFLINE TEST
IAS Prelims 2017 was successfully conducted on June 18, 2017. The unofficial answer key of both papers GS-I and GS-II is available online but the official answer key is yet to be published. The Commission will release the official answer key after the final selection announcement. The difficulty level of paper has increased this year compared to the previous year. The exam was held in offline mode.IAS 2017 Preliminary Results will be announced in the 2nd week of August 2017. It is estimated that over 5-lac people will qualify out of the 12-lac people who registered in this year’s civil services preliminary examination.
The Preliminary Examination consisted of two objective type papers carrying a maximum of 400 marks. IAS conducted in two phases with the first paper held at 9:30 AM and the second at 2:30 PM. Each paper was 2 hours long.
Unofficial Answer key for IAS-Prelims question papers have been uploaded by the below mentioned names. It is expected that these provide a fair view and estimation for students to check how much they can score. As these are created only after in-depth study of the questions which were asked still it is advised that their accuracy level should not be considered to be 100% true.

Nature of questions: They revolved around public health and environmental impact

Nature of questions: Involved Modern History as well as Ancient History & Art & Culture. They were more factual than based on concepts. But being very diverse they gave a head spin to many students

Nature of questions: About 70% of these questions involved maps. So, anyone who had a sound knowledge about world map and its facets could easily pass this section. Also, few important topics monsoon and irrigation in agriculture were covered.

Nature of Questions: The questions related to Economics/IR were tough. As expected they covered 2012-16 current affairs and economics related news more.

Nature of Questions: They were not entirely science based instead overlapped with the topics of Environment and Biodiversity

Nature of Questions: This section was amongst the most scoring sections. The questions were not very tough and covered basics of Indian Polity and Constitutional Structure.

Nature of Questions: They were more inclined towards Govt. schemes, policies, laws.
Significance of the cut-off score:
If a candidate has not scored as much as the cut off score then he/she won't be chosen for next round of enrollment process. So, it is very important to cross the cut off score in order to attempt for the IAS (Mains) and subsequently for the personal interview round.
