Candidates appearing for CTET 2017 should know all the choices and career prospects available to them after CTET 2017. Every CBSE school across the nation looks forward for CTET Certified teachers owing to the mandate passed by Supreme Court in May 2012. The mandate clearly directs that the teachers appointed in any CBSE Schools should be CTET qualified.
CBSE conducts Central Teacher Eligiblity Test (CTET) for recruitment of Teachers for Primary and Secondary levels. The qualified candidates are certified as Class I to VIII teachers ready-to-be-recruited in government Schools such as Kendriya Vidyalaya, Navodaya Vidyalaya and others. The Exam is conducted in two panels for Class I to V teachers and Class VI to VIII Teachers. Over passing years, the popularity of CTET has grown manifolds and private schools affiliated to CBSE and other boards are looking forward to hire CTET Certified teachers.
There are in total 1300 KVs, 961 NV and over 63 Tibetan Schools across the nation who hire only CTET certified teachers. However the vacancies available in such schools are not more than 5000 collectively. The CTET is taken by more 10 lac people while only 10% (1 lac) aspirants qualify. The competition in CTET is thus very tough (100,000 candidates for 5000 posts) especially considering CTET is just one of the criteria.
However, the candidates can apply to the other CBSE Schools as they also hire CTET Certified candidates
The CTET Certificate is offered to the qualified candidates of Central Teacher Eligibility Test. The Certificate validates the holder as an eligible primary/secondary teacher. CTET Ceritificate is the most necessary document to be presented while applying for any Govt/Private funded institute.
Any candidate is deemed qualified in CTET if he/she scores more than 60% in the exam. Lets look at the details mentioned in CTET Certificate
The CTET certificate is applicable in CBSE affiliated Schools, Government School and Schools being run by government/private organisations. These days, All schools in Delhi(Private/Aided/Government) accepts only CTET Certified candidates.
Recently, the Delhi government has decided to adopt CTET to recruit only CTET Certified Teachers as per the requirements. This comes as a good news to candidates who are CTET qualified or appearing for upcoming CTET Exam.
CTET certificate holders are also eligible to teach in Government school under State Government. Although, most of the states conduct their own Teacher Eligibility Test, CTET certificate is considered in many State schools.
The CTET Certificate is accepted by schools of the Central Government (KVS, NVS, Central Tibetan Schools, etc.). The certificate is also accepted schools under the administrative control of Union Territories viz. Chandigarh, Dadra & Nagar Haveli, Daman & Diu and Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep and NCT of Delhi.
Apart from the schools affiliated to CBSE, a lot of privately run Schools accept CTET Certificate for recruitment of teachers. Candidates appearing for CTET must stay vigilant regarding upcoming vacancies in various schools.
Schools owned and managed by State Government/local bodies and aided schools shall consider the TET conducted by the State Government. However, a State Government can also consider the CTET if it decides not to conduct the State TET.
