NATIONAL LEVEL ONLINE TEST
IBPS PO Mains exam is scheduled to be conducted on November 20, 2016. Only a few days left for the D-Day. As per the IBPS PO Exam Pattern, no major change is there except the introduction of sectional time limit.
In the IBPS PO mains exam, there are 5 sections- Quantitative Aptitude (QA), Reasoning Ability (RA), General Awareness (GA), English Language (EL) and Computer Knowledge (CK). A total of 200 questions are asked and 1 mark is awarded for each correct marked answer. For each incorrect answer, ¼ marks would be deducted.

From Quantitative Aptitude section, 50 questions are asked and the sectional cut off goes quite high. If you are not good with numbers then there are certain topics to cover and that can fetch you to achieve the minimum qualifying marks set by IBPS. The topics are:

40 questions are asked from this section. GA (General Awareness) is a very scoring section and it is less time consuming. Most of the questions in IBPS PO are asked on Current Affairs. GA is vast topic and it cannot be prepared in a day preparation. Yes, this section is the worst, meanest and biggest but nothing can be done as 40 questions are asked and there is a provision of sectional cut off in IBPS PO. 20 minutes are sufficient to crawl through all the questions.
Focus on the last 5 months current affairs. Read monthly magazines. Cover as much topics as you can. You can practice questions on apps while traveling, read the magazines before going to bed and revise it in early morning
The smallest, easiest and the fastest section in IBPS PO that anyone can attempt with high accuracy- Computer Knowledge. Only 20 questions come and a time allotted to this section is 10 minutes. Only basics of computers such as Operating System (OS) Function, Internet, Protocols, Network, Generations, Input/ Output Devices, Shortcut Keys, a bit of DBMS and MS Office are asked.
This subject can even be prepared in one day. Candidates can download pdf from internet and they are very good for the preparation. The questions come in a familiar way. There are some books available in the market which can help to an extent.
1. Time Management: Keep a bull’s eye on the timer you are provided to solve each question. If a question takes much time to answer, leave it and jump over another. Don’t worry, there are 200 questions in IBPS PO, if one is unable to get solved.
2. Speed & Accuracy: Keep solving mock tests to stay in touch with the older topics. It is not possible to complete all the questions but it is mandatory to qualify the set cut off in order to be eligible for the IBPS PO Mains Exam. Only practice can improve the accuracy level.
3. Revision: Give quality time to all the sections of IBPS PO. There are topics which are easily forgettable, so revise them properly. It is very important to revise on a regular basis.
4. Proper Planning: An organized schedule that outlines study times and learning goals. Practice till you become excel for IBPS PO. You must be able to solve the questions in such a way that you can explain the questions in multiple ways without any hesitation.
