NATIONAL LEVEL OFFLINE TEST

UPSC CDS 1 2017: Registration end from December 2, 2016

The last date for UPSC CDS 1 application registration is December 2, 2016 (Till 6 pm). UPSC is commonly known as “Union Public Service Commission” and is responsible for organising various examinations including CDS.

As the online application for UPSC CDS 2017 will close on December 2, 2016. The aspirants have last day for applying. The general Category and OBC candidates have to pay Rs.200 as exam fee, while female/SC/ST Candidates are exempted from paying fee.  The cash payment option is now closed. Only those candidates who have generated their Pay- in Slip Before the option is closed at SBI branch can pay fee on December 2, 2016 in banking hours.

UPSC will conduct CDS 1 2017 examination on February 5, 2017. After clearing the examination candidates will be sent to four institutions named as Indian Military Academy (Dehradun), Indian Naval Academy (Ezhimala), Air Force Academy (Hyderabad) and Officers Training Academy (Chennai).

UPSC CDS 1 2017 examination mode is written i.e. offline. Candidates who achieve a better position in the merit list of written examination will be called for final selection recommended by the Commission to the Service Selection Board.

The examination for Indian Military Academy, Indian Naval Academy and Air Force Academy comprised of three papers named as English, General Knowledge and Elementary Mathematics.

UPSC CDS 1 2017: Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility criteria of UPSC CDS 1 2017 is comprised of candidates qualification, their age limit and nationality. Following is the explanation of eligibility criteria in various institutions i.e. Indian Military Academy, Indian Naval Academy, Air Force Academy and Officers Training Academy.

Qualification

Indian Military Academy and Officers Training Academy

  • Candidates must possess bachelor’s degree from any recognised university
  • Candidates studying in the final year examination are also eligible to apply.

Indian Naval Academy

  • Candidate should complete its Engineering from reputed university or institution
  • Candidates studying in the final year of their degree are also eligible to apply but at the time of admission, they have to submit their provisional degree of course completion.

Air Force Academy

  • Candidates must have studied Physics and Chemistry in 10+2 or must possess bachelor’s degree in B.Tech from the recognised university.
  • Those candidates are also eligible to apply who are giving final year degree examination.

Age Limit

The age limit eligibility criteria of candidates are based on some factors named as their category, age, gender and their marital status. The following table shows the age limit of various category candidates:

Nationality

  • Candidate must be an Indian or Bhutan or Nepal citizen.
  • Tibetan refugees who come to India before July 1, 1962 with permanently settled in India are also eligible to apply.

UPSC CDS 1 2017: How to Apply

Candidates are able to fill the application form only through online mode. So, they are advised to read the instructions carefully before start filling the application form.

By following the below steps candidate can easily apply online for CDS 1 examination:

  • Candidates must visit the official website through the link “upsconline.nic.in”.
  • After that candidate need to click on Online Application and then choose CDS 1 exam.  
  • Then candidates have to fill their personal information, educational qualification, and preference for the institute.
  • After that candidate has to enter the registration fees payment, exam centers selection, and upload the scanned copy of candidate’s signature and passport size photograph in the given space.
  • Candidates need to pay the application fees of amount INR 200 via Net Banking or Credit or Debit card.
  • Reserved category candidates and female candidates are exempted from paying application fees.
  • Candidates are advised to take the printout of filled in application form for future use.

UPSC CDS 1 2017: Admit Card

Candidates should carry their Admit Card to the test centre on the examination day. They are able to download their admit card from the official website of UPSC. Candidates can get e-Admit Card three weeks before the commencement of examination. Admit cards will not be sent by post. The CDS 1 2017 Admit Card contains information regarding Candidates Name, Enrolment Number, Birth Date, Application Number, Reporting Time, and Venue of paper.

The following are the necessary steps to download the CDS 1 2017 Admit Card:

  • Candidates must visit the official website of UPSC and click on the link named as “Download the CDS 1 2017 Admit Card”.
  • After that candidate will be redirected to a new page where they have to choose among ‘By Registration ID’ or ‘By Roll No’ or ‘By Name’.
  • Then candidates should enter their personal information.
  • After that candidate should click on submit button and verifying the details.
  • Now Admit card appear on the candidate’s screen
  • Candidates are advised to download the Admit Card and print the multiple copies of it.
