KMAT Kerala 2018

Kerala Management Aptitude Test (KMAT) is a state level entrance exam for MBA, conducted by MG university. KMAT is held twice a year to offer admission to eligible candidates to management courses in various Government/Private institutions of Kerala.  KMAT Kerala 2018 Application Form will be available online from first week of April 2018.

  • Application form for KMAT Kerala 2018 can be Submitted in online mode.
  • KMAT Kerala 2018 will be conducted in offline mode i.e. in pen and paper mode preferably, on OMR sheets.
  • MBA seats are filled on merit with applicable reservation exemptions.
  • The questions are asked in MCQ form where candidates have to answer 180 questions.
  • The asked questions are from English Language Usage and Reading Comprehension, Quantitative Aptitude, Data Sufficiency and Logical Reasoning and General Knowledge and Contemporary Business Scenario.

KMAT Kerala 2018 Exam Dates

KMAT Kerala 2018 Registrations will begin in the first week of January, 2018. Interested candidates must carefully go through the eligibility criteria and apply online till third week of March 2018. KMAT Kerala 2018 Eligibility

To be eligible for KMAT Kerala 2018, candidates are required to fulfil certain eligibility conditions. The conditions pertaining to educational/academic qualifications and nationality have been bulleted below:

Basic Educational qualification

  • Candidates should have completed their Bachelors’ Degree of minimum 3 years duration to satisfy the eligibility criteria for KMAT Kerala in various departments like Commerce, Management, Arts, Social Sciences, Engineering/ Technology or its equivalent.
  • Minimum 50% aggregate marks must be acquired in bachelor’s degree to be eligible for KMAT Kerala 2018.
  • Those who are appearing for the final year of the qualifying examination are also eligible to apply, provided their results are declared before the commencement of admission process of KMAT Kerala.
  • Candidates must have 60% in his SSLC exam (class 10) to satisfy eligibility criteria for KMAT KERLA 2018.
  • For DOB/Age proof only SSLC certificate is accepted.


  • Aspirant must be an Indian citizen.
  • Domicile: Aspirant should be a native of Kerala.

KMAT Kerala 2018 Application Form

KMAT Kerala 2018 Application Form will be available in online mode only. The registration for the year 2018 will begin from the first week of January 2018. Last date of KMAT Kerala 2018 Application Form submission will be in the third week of March 2018. The application fee for general category will be INR 1,000 and for SC/ST candidates INR 750. The fee will be deposited in online mode only. The process to fill KMAT Kerala 2018 Application Form will require the following steps:

STEP 1: Depositing Application Fee Online

  • Go to the official website of KMAT Kerala-
  • The details such as such as Name, Date of Birth, Mobile Number and E-Mail ID entered during online fee payment.
  • After depositing the Application fee, candidate will get a ‘SB Collect Reference Number’ and a receipt of fee payment.

STEP2: Filling the Application Form

  • On the next working day of payment of the Application fee, candidate can complete online submission of application.
  • Login by entering the ‘SB Collect Reference Number’ and Date of Birth.
  • Enter Personal Details, Academic Details and Contact details carefully in the online application form.
  • Once filled, a unique Application Number will be generated and displayed on the top of this page.
  • Candidate must keep this Application Number, which is later required to print the Hall Ticket and for future correspondence, if required.

KMAT Kerala 2018 Admit Card

 Aspirants can download KMAT Kerala 2018 Admit Card via online mode only. Aspirants can get their admit card after they log in with the required credentials. Candidates have to fill their “SB Collect Reference Number” and “Password”. KMAT Kerala 2018 Admit Card will be available from last week of March 2018. Admit card has following details.

  • Name of the candidate
  • Date of birth of the candidate                 
  • KMAT 2017 Roll Number
  • KMAT 2017 Exam Centre

  • Time and date of the KMAT Kerala Exam

KMAT Kerala 2018 Exam Center

Initially, the first phase of KMAT Kerala examination was conducted at 10 centres across 7 districts of Kerala.  But now it is anticipated that all districts of Kerala will have the exam centre for KMAT KERLA 2018. The exam centers may include the following cities:


KMAT Kerala 2018 Exam Pattern

KMAT Kerala 2017 is a 3-hour duration exam. KMAT Kerala 2018 would be conducted in offline mode i.e., Pen and Paper based Test and medium would be English.

There would be total 180 questions from 4 sections namely – English Language Usage and Reading Comprehension, Quantitative Aptitude, Data Sufficiency and Logical Reasoning and General Knowledge and Contemporary Business Scenario.

  • Exam Mode: The exam will be held through offline mode.
  • Duration: The duration of the exam will be 3 hours.
  • Type of Questions: The question paper will be consisting of multiple choice questions.
  • Number of Questions: Total 180 question will be asked in the examination.
  • Language: The question paper will be asked in English language.
  • Marking Scheme: For correct answer, 4 marks will be allotted to candidates.
  • Negative Marking: No marks will be deducted for a wrong answer.

KMAT Kerala 2018 Syllabus

There are mainly four sections covered under this exam. Candidates are put questions related to English Language and Reading Comprehension, Quantitative Aptitude, Data Sufficiency and Logical Reasoning and General Knowledge and Current Business Scenario. The syllabus covered in these sections are as follows:

English Language and Reading Comprehension

This section primarily contains questions from topics such as English grammar, Vocabulary and Language Usage, Comprehension Passage, etc. Some of the key topics in this section are mentioned below.

  • Fact Inference Judgement

Quantitative Aptitude

The questions are based on topics such as Arithmetic, Algebra, Mensuration, Calculus, Geometry, etc. There will be total 50 questions in Quantitative Aptitude section. Some of the key concepts from various topics are mentioned below.

  • Arithmetic - Number System, HCF, LCM, Ratio & Proportion, Simplification, Percentage, etc.
  • Algebra - Theory of Equations, Sequence & Series, Quadratic Equation, Permutation & Combination, etc.

  • Mensuration - Areas and Volumes – Rectangles, Squares, Triangles, Circles, Cubes, Cones, Spheres, Pipes and Cistern, etc.

Data Sufficiency and Logical Reasoning

The questions are framed in the form of various graphs, pie charts, charts, etc. in the data sufficiency section. Some of the main components of this section are:

Logical reasoning

Logical Reasoning requires application of some common problem-solving principles as well as a strong analytical bent of mind. The key topics for Logical Reasoning are:

KMAT Kerala 2018 Result

Candidates can check their KMAT KERLA 2018 results online from the links given by university to check KMAT KERLA 2018 results. Following are the steps to obtain KMAT Kerala 2018 Result:

  2. Click on “Login for Scorecard”
  3. Enter login credentials.
  4. Click on submit.
  5. The results will be displayed on the screen.
  6. Print a copy of the results for future reference.

All candidates should take a print of their result for further process. Candidates who have their name in the merit list will eligible for counselling of KMAT 2018. Those who will secure equal or above marks in KMAT Kerala 2018 will be eligible for the counselling process.

Candidates may apply for admission in various colleges of their choice and they will get admission only on the basis of their rank in the exam as per the results. Eligible candidates will participate in counselling for MBA programs in different colleges of Kerala.

The minimum qualifying Kerala KMAT 2018 shall be 15% (108/720) for General Category, 10% for SEBC and 7% for reserved category. This year it may be varied or continue depending on the university discretion.

KMAT Kerala 2018 Counselling

Candidates, those who qualify the exam will be called for the counselling procedure. KMAT Kerala 2018 counselling will be conducted on the basis of merit list. The merit list will be made on the basis of marks obtained in the examination. The counselling will begin in the month of May 2018.
