NATIONAL LEVEL ONLINE TEST
CLAT (Common Law Admission Test) is conducted on a rotational basis by 18 National Law Universities (NLUs) in India. Candidates need to clear CLAT to secure admission into BA LLB (Hons), BSc LLB (Hons), BBA LLB (Hons), BSW LLB (Hons), BCom LLB (Hons) and LLM programmes on offer at the 18 NLUs.
CLAT 2017 is scheduled on May 14, 2017. This year, CNLU, Patna will organize the exam. On the basis of a candidate's score in CLAT exam, he/she can secure admission to fill 632 LLM seats and 2342 LLB seats.
CLAT is a CBT (Computer Based Test) and the questions are objective in nature. There are 200 questions in the test paper for LLB and 150 questions in the test paper for LLM courses. The eligibility to appear in CLAT is 10+2 for LLB programmes, and LLB or equivalent degree for LLM programmes. For every correct answer 1 mark is awarded but for every wrong answer 0.25 mark is deducted.
