AP PGECET 2018 Application Form

AP PGECET (Andhra Pradesh Post Graduate Engineering Common Entrance Test) is a state level entrance test conducted by the Government of Andhra Pradesh for students seeking admissions into the various post graduate courses (M.Tech and M.Pharm) offered by the participating institutes.

The application procedure for the AP PGECET 2018 begins in the 1st week of March, 2018.  The entire application procedure is online. The steps involved in the application process include:

  • Application fee payment
  • Filling personal details AP PGECET 2018 Application Form
  • Uploading the documents required
  • Submitting the AP PGECET 2018 Application Form online and taking a print out of the same

Candidates must have the details of their Aadhar card in order to apply since Aadhar card has become mandatory for AP PGECET 2018 Application. Also, they must have the scanned images of their passport sized photograph and signature ready to upload in the prescribed format after filling up of the details in the application form.

Candidates need to have the Registration ID and Payment ID (available after successful application form fee payment) in order to complete the AP PGECET 2018 Application procedure. The application fee for different categories have been mentioned below:

If any essential details are lost, candidates can retrieve the same from the online portal by providing some basic information like Qualifying Exam Hall ticket number, date of birth and mobile number.

If candidates make mistakes in the online AP PGECET Application Form filling, they can rectify the mistakes by contacting the conducting authority via phone or mail. The contact information can be obtained from the official website www.sche.ap.gov.in. If there is an online portal created for the sake of form corrections, the candidates need to login to this portal using details like registration ID and mobile number and then make necessary corrections.

The last date for the online submission of the AP PGECET 2018 application form without late fee is expected to be in the first week of April, 2018.

How to Fill AP PGECET 2018 Application Form?

AP PGECET 2018 Application process has to be done online. There is no method of completing the application procedure in the offline method. The steps involved in the application procedure include payment of application fee, filling up of all the required details in the online portal, submitting the application form online and then taking a print of the submitted application. The candidates need to follow the steps given below to complete all the necessary procedures.

Step 1: Application Fee Payment

Before filling out the AP PGECET 2018 Application form, applicants must pay the necessary application fee.

The application fee is Rs 800/- for students from General/Other Category and Rs.400 for students from the SC/ST category. The fee mentioned is exclusive of processing charges.

The candidates have two options of paying the application fee:

  1. AP Online Center: Candidates can pay the AP PGECET application fee at the AP Online Centers. Candidates must provide the following details at the AP Online Center while paying the application fee:
  • Name of the Candidate
  • Name of the Candidate’s Father
  • Date of Birth of the Candidate
  • Mobile number of the Candidate
  • Hall Ticket number of the Qualifying Examination

After providing these details and successfully paying the fee a receipt is handed by the AP Online Center. This receipt provided will bear a Payment ID. The candidates have to preserve this Payment ID extremely carefully as this is used to LOGIN to the AP PGECET Application portal.

  1. Online Payment: Candidates can choose to pay the AP PGECET Application fee online. This online payment can be done by means of credit/debit card or via Net Banking.

Before proceeding with this option, candidates must make sure they have the necessary details regarding the credit/debit card/net banking account before using the payment gateway to pay the application fee online.

  • Candidates must visit the official website at http://www.sche.ap.gov.in.
  • At the home page, candidates must click on the link reading ‘AP PGECET 2018’.
  • Candidates will be directed to a page where they can see the steps involved in the application procedure.
  • Click on the link “Fee Payment”
  • Candidates will be asked to enter details like qualifying exam hall ticket number, candidate’s name, date of birth (as per SSC), mobile number, e-mail Id, category, qualifying degree and specialization in qualifying degree.
  • Click on ‘Initiate Payment’ and follow the simple instructions to complete the payment.
  • While making the payment, the browser should not be closed suddenly. Candidates must not click on the ‘back’ or the ‘refresh’ button while the transaction is ongoing.
  • After the payment is successful, a Payment ID will appear on the screen which has to be noted down carefully as this Payment ID is used for login to the application form filling portal.

In case any doubt still persists, candidates can click on the link reading ‘Know Payment Status’ which is listed as step 2 right under ‘Fee Payment’ link. Candidates can type in the Qualifying exam hall ticket number and the mobile number to know the status of application fee payment.

Step 2: Fill AP PGECET 2018 Application

Candidates must visit the official website at www.sche.ap.gov.in and click on the ‘AP PGECET 2018’ link.

There are four links in the next page, viz., Fee Payment, Know Your Payment Status, Fill Application and Print Application.

Candidates will have to click on ‘Fill Application’ link after making the application fee payment.

Candidates will be asked to enter the Payment Reference ID, Qualifying Examination Hall Ticket, mobile number and date of birth.

After providing these details, candidates can click on the link ‘Proceed to Fill Application’. Applicants must then enter the following details in the application:

Candidate’s Details:

  • Candidate’s name, date of birth of the candidate and the caste category that the candidate belongs are already displayed in the form based on the details provided by the candidate at the time of Fee Payment. These details cannot be changed or edited.
  • Father’s name and Mother’s name as per 10th class certificate.
  • Selection of Gender
  • Aadhaar number (if the candidate is yet to receive the Aadhaar number, the candidate must enter the enrollment number)
  • Selection of Birth district and Birth State
  • Ration Card number (of the family)
  • Special Reservation Category (if applicable)
  • Local Area (select among OU/AU/SVU/Non local/Other State)
  • Candidate must then select if he/she belongs to Minority or Non-Minority
  • Annual Income of parents (select the applicable choice from the 3 categories available). Candidates also must enter a valid Income Certificate Number
  • Candidate’s Bank Details (Name in Account, Account Number and IFSC code)

Address:

Candidates must provide the entire address providing information about the following details.

  • House number or C/O
  • Village/Street/Locality
  • Mandal/Town/City
  • District
  • State
  • PIN Code

Along with the above mentioned details, applicants must also enter valid mobile number and email ID.

Qualifying Examination:

The following details must be entered in this section.

  • Qualifying Degree
  • Specialization in Qualifying Degree
  • Hall ticket Number (of the Qualifying Examination)
  • Passing Year (of the Qualifying Degree exam)
  • Instruction Medium at the Qualifying Examination
  • The Hall ticket number, month and year of passing of SSC or Equivalent (10th class)
  • The Hall ticket number, month and year of passing of Intermediate (HSC) or equivalent (12th class)
  • Place of study for 10th, 12th, Diploma/Degree, MCA/M.Sc

Details of the Common Entrance Test:

Candidates must select two cities from the list of options available as preferences for the exam cities.

Candidates will then be directed to the page where they have to upload the necessary documents. For this purpose, candidates must have scanned images of a passport size photograph and signature ready in the prescribed format.

After filling in all the necessary data, candidates have to ‘Save’ the data entered in the application and can the click on the ‘Preview/Submit’ button after reading the declaration and clicking on the check box.

Upon clicking on the ‘Submit’ button, candidates are presented with the ‘Modify’ option and the ‘Confirm/Freeze’ option.

Clicking on the ’Modify’ button will provide the chance to make some changes.

After making the necessary changes using the ‘Modify’ option, applicants can click on the ‘Confirm/Freeze’ button to submit the application.

Once the AP PGECET 2018 Application Form is submitted successfully, a prompt box appears which reads out the message ‘Your application is submitted successfully. Please note down your Registration number for further reference’.

Applicants can then proceed to note down this registration number and keep it safely. 

Step 3: Print AP PGECET 2018 Application Form

After the online AP PGECET 2018 application form is submitted, candidates can take a print of the same by clicking on the 4th step at the AP PGECET 2018 home screen and then entering the registration number, payment Id, hall ticket number (of Qualifying Exam), mobile number and the date of birth.

After entering the necessary details, candidates can click on ‘Get Application Details’.

Candidates will be directed to a page where the print out of the AP PGECET 2018 application can be taken out.


Important Documents Required for AP PGECET Application Form

Before initiating the online application process, it is essential for the candidates to have the following documents and information ready in hand, in order to successfully complete the online application procedure.

  1. Scanned image of the candidate’s photograph and signature
  • Following the successful application fee payment and filling up of the online application form, candidates will be required upload high quality scanned images of the candidate’s photograph and the candidate’s signature.
  • A recent passport sized photograph must be uploaded. The standard dimensions of passport size photograph are 3.5 cm (width) and 4.5 cm (height).
  • The scanned image of the candidate’s photograph must be either in .jpg or .jpeg format only. The size of the file containing the candidate’s photograph must not exceed 50 kb.
  • Next, the candidate’s signature must be uploaded. For this purpose, they must sign on a white paper using a black pen and use the scanned image of this signature when asked.
  • The scanned image of the candidate’s signature must either be in .jpg or .jpeg format. The size of the file containing the candidate’s photograph should be less than 30kb.
  1. If the AP PGECET 2018 application fee has been paid already at one of the AP Online Centre, the candidates must have the AP Online Transaction ID before starting the AP PGECET application filling process.
  2. If the candidates are making the necessary AP PGECET 2018 application fee payment online, then they must have the credit/debit card details. Alternatively, if online payment is being made via Net Banking, the candidates must have the valid User ID and the Password to access the Bank Account.
  3. Applicants are also required to have the unique Aadhaar card number at the time of applying since the Aadhaar card details are mandatory for the application process.
  4. Candidates needs to be aware of the definition of ‘Local’ and ‘Non Local’ since they must choose amongst the choices (AU/SVU/OU/Non Local/Other State) given at the application portal. The local area primarily depends on the candidate’s location of study in the 7 years preceding the qualifying examination. Candidate’s claim of being local/non local shall be verified at the time of counseling and admissions.

AP PGECET 2018 Application Fee

The payment of the AP PGECET application fee is a prerequisite for filling the AP PGECET application. The application fee for students belonging to different categories is shown below:

If candidates are interested in applying for the AP PGECET again, with another set of subjects, AP PGECET 2018 application fee has to be paid again.

The candidates can make the application fee payment in one of the two ways.

  1. By paying the application fee in the nearest AP Online Center.
  2. By making online payment of the application fee (credit/debit card, net banking).

Retrieving Registration Number and Payment ID

In case candidates forget or misplace the Registration number, they can retrieve the same by visiting the official website and providing details such as the Payment ID, Date of Birth, Hall ticket number and mobile number.

If candidates forget or misplace the Payment ID, they can retrieve the same by visiting the official website and providing details such as the source of payment, mobile number, hall ticket number and date of birth.

Alternatively, the Payment ID can be retrieved by clicking on the ‘Know Your Payment Status’ at the home page of AP PGECET 2018.

Candidates can type in the Qualifying Examination Hall Ticket Number and the registered Mobile Number and then click on the ‘Check Payment Status’ Link.

Candidates can then view the status (SUCCESS/FAILURE) alongside the Payment ID.


AP PGECET 2018 Form Status

Applicants who have applied for AP PGECET 2018 through the online procedure will receive an SMS to the registered mobile number and a mail to the registered email ID regarding the successful submission status of the AP PGECET application.

The status of the fee payment can be known by visiting the official website and clicking on the ‘Know Your Payment Status’.


AP PGECET 2018 Form Correction

If candidates have made errors in filling out the application form, they can reach out to the conducting authorities via email or phone.  The conducting authorities will open a correction window, available for a limited period of time after the application process is completed, if they receive more requests for making corrections from a number of candidates.

In order to make these changes in the online portal, candidates will have to provide the details like Registration ID, mobile number and date of birth and then click on ‘Proceed’ to edit the information.
