The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test or NEET is the most-sought-after medical exam for medical aspirants. The exam is conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education to provide admissions to medical courses such as MBBS/ BDS in a government or private medical colleges in India. Previously, NEET was referred to as the All India Pre Medical Test commonly known as AIPMT.

  • Duration of exam is 3 hours. Timings will be from 10:00 AM to 01:00 PM.
  • It is a pen paper based test
  • There are 180 multiple choice questions with one correct answer to be marked by the candidate on the OMR sheet.
  • For every correct answer, 4 marks are given. 1 mark will be deducted.
  • The candidates can choose the language of the test booklet while filling up the application form.

ExamFearEducation is one of India's best non profitable Education Platform. NEET Exam Pattern

NEET Exam Pattern is prescribed by CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education). The exam is conducted in offline mode to shortlist  aspirants for medical programs. The paper pattern of NEET describes the complete syllabus, subject-wise marking scheme, distribution of marks, time duration and alike.

No changes have been notified in this years’ NEET Exam Pattern. NEET exam has 180 questions of MCQ type and students are given 3 hours to complete their papers.

Question paper includes sections from

  • Biology (Botany and Zoology)

There are total 10 Languages that you can choose for the test booklet while filling up NEET Application Form. Apart from Hindi and English, there is an option avaliable for 8 other vernacular languages. 

NEET Exam Pattern has total of 4 sections, each of these sections has 45 questions and carries 180 marks each. Therefore, the complete 180 questions carries a total of 720 marks.


NEET Syllabus

NEET Syllabus is completely based on of 11th and 12th standard subjects. The syllabus is made under the guidance of Medical Council of India and CBSE prepares the complete NEET Syllabus. The students can download the entire syllabus from the official website.

Important topics for each section of the exam is as follows:

  • NEET Syllabus for Physics

For performing well in this section, candidates must be thorough with all the chapters in their 11th and 12th standard syllabus, such as Laws of Motion, Gravitation, Optics, Current Electricity, Atom and Nuclei, Work, Energy and Power to name a few.

  • NEET Syllabus for Chemistry
