NEET Paper Analysis 2017

Physics section emerged as the toughest one followed by Chemistry and Biology (Botany + Zoology). Overall, the paper was moderately hard and evenly balanced syllabus wise. However, there were questions which wouldn’t have made for plain-sailing. It can be safely said that this paper was tougher than its predecessor, and certainly not a cheese-cake, as some might have been expecting given the short notice at which this paper was prepared.

  • Mechanical properties of solids & fluids enjoyed the majority in Physics. Maximum number of questions were asked from Mechanics followed by Electrodynamics, and Modern & Electronics. 40% of the questions were tough, 40% were of medium difficulty level and the remaining 20% were easy. Also, many questions were repeated from previous years’ papers.
  • As compared to the previous year, the chemistry paper in NEET paper was comparatively easy. Class XII syllabus dominated this section. Special reactions in organic chemistry was also covered really well. A maximum number of questions were asked from Organic Chemistry prescribed for class 12. Class XI syllabus comprised one-third of the total number of questions.
  • Biology for NEET is a combination of Zoology & Botany. The difficulty level of questions in this section was moderate. Questions were equally divided from class XI and class XII. Topics like Genetics and Bio-Tech, Ecology, Human Physiology consisted the maximum number of questions. This section was the easiest in comparison to Physics and Chemistry.

NEET 2017 Answer Key by CBSE

CBSE, the exam conducting body of NEET 2017, will announce the result of entrance test on June 8 for those candidates, who will be able to score equal to or more than the predetermined qualifying marks for their caste category. But before that, they can download OMR Answer Sheet in the last week of May (tentative).

How to Download NEET Answer Key 2017?

Candidates have to go through the following steps to download the NEET Answer Key 2017:

  1. Visit the official link (link will be provided above).
  2. Click on the link related to “NEET 2017 Answer Key”.
  3. The answer key of all sets will appear on the screen.
  4. Download it and compare the responses with the answer key.
  5. Candidates don’t forget to take printout of the answer key for further use.

With the display of answer key, the CBSE Board will give a chance to challenge the answer key. Students who are unsatisfied with the answer key can challenge against the answer key on the payment of INR 1000 per answer. The fee will be refunded in case of challenge accepted by the board. Remember that the challenge will not be accepted after the due date. The steps for answer key challenge is shown below.

Steps to Challenge NEET Answer Key 2017

  • Go to Candidate Login and enter NEET 2017 Registration number and Password
  • Click on ‘Answer Key Challenge’ tab and select answer booklet code
  • Select the question for challenge and then click on submit button
  • Select your answer and give comments/justifications for answer
  • Click on ‘Confirm’ tab and pay requisite fee for challenging the answer key
  • Pay the fee using Debit/Credit Card. Candidates have to pay INR 1000 for each answer key which is challenged.
  • Then take the printout of Confirmation Slip showing detail of answer key challenged.

NEET Question Paper 2017

Last year there were 12 sets, such that groups of 3 question papers were same (Set no.1 ==Set no.5 == Set no.9, and so on). Therefore, there were total 4 answer keys, each corresponding to 1 group.

  • NEET Question Paper 2017 contained 180 multiple choice questions in total, on physics, chemistry, biology.
  • There is 1 correct answer for a question.
  • Usually, there are 4 or multiple of 4 sets for NEET.
  • There will be as many sets of NEET 2017 Answer Key as there are question paper sets.

For each correct Answer in NEET 2017+ 4 Marks
For each incorrect Answer in NEET 2017-1 Mark
Candidate’s NEET 2017 Score out of 720{Total number of correct answer x 4 – Total number of incorrect response x 1}

NEET Qualifying Marks 2017

The minimum score scored by test takers to pass the NEET exam 2017 is the qualifying marks. Thus, the minimum NEET cut off 2017 for general category candidate is 50 percentiles, while for OBC category it is 40 percentiles.

NEET Cutoff 2017 (Expected)

NEET 2017 Cutoff will be published in the month of June after declaration of results. The list consists of All India category wise ranks of qualified candidates. All the participating states will then prepare their merit list for counselling procedure. Candidates can check below the previous year cutoff for top medical colleges.

Hi Manish, The NEET Entrance Exam is a national level entrance test for MBBS/BDS admissions after class 12. if you want to get admission in best college for MBBS, you need to appear for this exam and Admission to medical courses will now be done through NEET, as directed by the Supreme Court.
