NEET 2018 Notification Released, NEET 2018 Exam Date is May 6

CBSE has released NEET 2018 Notification on February 8, at its official website ( Conducted in 10 different languages, NEET exam is scheduled for May 6 for admission to MBBS/BDS courses in Medical Colleges across the nation. Since 2016, NEET is the single medical examination for National Medical Colleges, State medical colleges, deemed medical universities and other institutes offering MBBS/BDS courses.

Candidates can register for NEET 2018 Exam in online mode only. Last date to fill NEET 2018 Application Form is March 9. The application Fee for general category candidates is INR 1400 (INR 750 for reserved category). 

CBSE will declare the final result for NEET 2018 on June 5. Qualifying candidates will participate in the counselling rounds from 12 June onwards. The final date of joining will be in the last week of August.

CBSE is all set to conduct the NEET 2018 Exam on May 6. The registration window is functional now. For all other important dates, refer to the below table:

Changes in NEET 2018

With the introduction of NEET as the only national medical entrance exam for admission to All India Seats, State Quota Seats and other Privately funded institutes offering MBBS/BDS Seats, it has undergone a number of changes. Changes introduced in NEET 2018 are listed below.

  • Following the decision of Supreme Court in 2016, NEET is now the national level medical entrance examination for admission to MBBS/BBDS Courses on Pan India Basis.
  • The GOI and Medical Council of India (MCI) has made Aadhar Card as a mandatory photo ID. This is applicable to all Indian Citizens. However, the foreign candidates can apply with their Passport as valid ID Proof.
  • Eligibility for NEET 2018 has also been reviewed. The lower limit to apply for NEET 2018 is 17 years. The upper age limit for the exam is 25 years by December 31, 2018. Candidates from SC/ST/OBC are provided relaxation of 5 years.
  • NEET 2018 Syllabus has also been revised, owing to the change in pattern of 10+2 Syllabus and growing technologies.
  • NEET is now a qualifier for admission to medical institutes across the country, it will be now conducted in 10 different languages viz. Hindi, English, Gujarati, Marathi, Oriya, Bengali, Assamese, Telugu, Tamil and Kannada. Read more

NEET 2018 Application Form

The online form is available on the Official website for a limited time period. Steps to apply for the exam are as follows:

  1. Filling the Online Application Form – Download the form and fill in the required details carefully. Enter personal details, academic details, category details etc.
  2. Uploading of Photo and Signature – Upload your photo, signature and right-hand index finger impression in the specifications given below:

    Image: In JPEG format between 10 KB and 100 KB in size

    Signature: In JPEG format between 3KB and 20 KB in size

    Right-hand index finger impression: In JPEG format between 3 KB and 20 KB in size

  3. Payment of Fee – final step is to make the payment as per your category. Fee can be paid via online and offline mode.

  4. Print Confirmation Page – After successfully completing the steps mentioned above, a confirmation page will be generated. Take a printout of the same for future reference.

Hello, i am US citizen living and studying in ahmedabad,india since 6th grade, i have OCI card and also got Aadhar card. question 1. what kind of selection should i make to apply for NEET UG? with aadhar card or passport? question 2. if i select OCI, am i still eligible to get admission in State 85% quota if i secure enough marks in NEET? or i must go for state NRI quota to get admission? can you please guide?

Hi Nilesh, You can apply for NEET UG with your Passport Number. And, Yes. Indian Nationals and Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) are Eligible for appearing in the NEET-UG, 2018 and also eligible for seats under 15% All India Quota. Eligibility of OCI candidates for admission under seats in the control of States/Universities/Institutions shall be ascertained before applying for NEET-UG, 2018.

Hi Yogita, The form correction facility is expected to commence in the second week of March-2018. The corrections can be done online at Candidates have to visit the official website and access their NEET application form using login credentials.

Is it mandatory to have exactly same name (or in same pattern)as on matriculation marksheet on aadhar card for NEET 2018 application form??
