NEET 2017 Mizoram State Counselling

Mizoram MBBS 2017 Admissions through NEET 2017 is conducted by the Directorate of Higher and Technical Education, Government of Mizoram. The procedure is based on the state merit list released by CBSE, which is the conducting authority of NEET 2017.  

  • CBSE issues two merit lists after the declaration of NEET 2017 results (23rd June, 2017). One list is dedicated towards admissions of candidates who have applied under All India Quota (15%).
  • The state wise merit list is the main criteria upon which admissions into Mizoram MBBS courses is done.  
  • Seats are allotted to candidate based on the score obtained in NEET 2017 and choices given at the time of online choice filling.

NEET 2017 Mizoram Counselling Dates

Admissions into these medical colleges generally start after the declaration of the NEET Result. The Mizoram MBBS admission process will start tentatively in July 2017. Candidates can check out the dates given below for reference:

NEET 2017 Mizoram Eligibility Criteria

Candidates seeking admission to the medical/ dental colleges of Mizoram, can check the NEET 2017 Eligibility Criteria for the NEET 2017 Mizoram State Counselling listed below.

  • Candidates must have passed Class XII with PCB subjects as the core subjects. They must have obtained at least 50% of marks in aggregate.
  • Candidates will have to qualify NEET 2017. The minimum NEET cut off 2017 for General category students is 50% and reserved category students is 40%.
  • Only Indian nationals are eligible to admissions in MBBS/BDS programs.
  • Candidates should be more than 17 years of age. The age limit will be calculated as on December 31, 2016.
  • Candidates must have a domicile of origin in Mizoram. Candidates whose parents are employed in the Mizoram government are also eligible for admission.

NEET 2017 Mizoram Counselling Process

Admissions for MBBS course in participating institutes in Mizoram through NEET 2017 is done by 3 rounds of counselling. In these 3 rounds of counselling, the various seats available across institutes are allotted to applicants on the basis of their performance in NEET 2017 and choices submitted.

  • Login to Mizoram NEET Counselling official website and register yourself. Generate User ID and password.
  • Among the list of Mizoram Govt Medical Colleges select college of your choice
  • Submit online counselling application fee for NEET Counselling. Check Mizoram NEET Counselling fee for general category and SC/ST category and other reserved categories.
  • Upload your recent passport size photo.
  • Upload scanned copies of all the documents – mark sheets, domicile, caste certificate, physical disability certificate etc.
  • Submit Mizoram NEET Counselling registration form and take a print out.
  • The entire procedure begins with the release of merit list by CBSE.

Mizoram MBBS Merit List

Two weeks after NEET 2017 results are declared in the official website i.e., two merit lists are prepared on the basis of marks scored by candidates in NEET 2017.

  • One merit is for candidates who have opted for admissions under the 15% All India Quotas.
  • Other merit list is given to the official MBBS admission authority of Mizoram.

Tie Break Criteria

In the event of candidates obtaining the same score, the following tie break steps are implemented (in that order) until the tie is resolved.

  1. Candidate with higher marks in Biology is ranked higher.
  2. Candidate with higher marks in Chemistry is ranked higher.
  3. Candidate who has lesser number of wrong answers is ranked higher.
  4. Elder candidate is ranked higher.

Mizoram MBBS Seat Allotment

Based on the position of candidates in the state merit list and choices filled by candidates, seats are allotted. Candidates must report to the institute mentioned, along with all the required documents, to complete the admission process.

Candidates who are not satisfied with seats allotted to them or who have not been allotted seats at all can apply for subsequent rounds of counselling. Based on vacancies of seats in participating institutes, up to 3 rounds of counselling are conducted. 

Documents Required for Counselling

Candidates must make sure they carry the following documents along with three sets of photocopies at the time of counselling for proper conduct of verification and other processes.

  • CBSE NEET 2017 Admit Card.
  • NEET 2017 Scorecard.
  • Class 10th Mark Sheet (as proof of date of birth).
  •  Class 12th Certificate.
  • Passport size photographs.
  • Photo Identity proof.
  • SC/ ST/ OBC certificate (if applicable).
  • PH (Physically Handicapped) Certificate issued by the medical authority (if applicable).

NEET 2017 Mizoram Cut off

Taking cut offs of last year into consideration, candidates can get an idea about the cut off that needs to be cleared.

Cut off depends on various factors such as number of candidates who have given the exam, number of seats available and difficulty level of entrance examination.

Hi Manish, The NEET Entrance Exam is a national level entrance test for MBBS/BDS admissions after class 12. if you want to get admission in best college for MBBS, you need to appear for this exam and Admission to medical courses will now be done through NEET, as directed by the Supreme Court.
