How to Get Admission in Indira Gandhi Govt Medical College and Hospital, Nagpur?

Indira Gandhi Government Medical College & Hospital (IGGMCH) has MCI recognition to admit 150 students in MBBS program strictly on the basis of rank secured in NEET 2017. The college is run by the Government of Maharashtra under the affiliation of Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Nashik. Candidates successfully clearing the NEET 2017 cut off will be given admission to the college subject to the fulfillment of the eligibility criteria.

Indira Gandhi Govt Medical College Admission Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible to grab a seat in one of the two Govt. Medical Colleges in the city of Nagpur, one has to fulfill the mentioned criteria.

  • Nationality: The candidate must be an Indian Citizen or Overseas Citizen of India.
  • Age Limit: Candidate must be of minimum 17 years of age at the time of admission on or before December 31, 2017. The upper age limit for admission seekers under All India Quota is 25 years relaxable for a period of 5 years for SC/ST/OBC candidates.
  • Essential Academic Qualification: The candidates who have passed Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology individually securing a minimum of 50% in 10+2 are eligible. For reserved category (SC/ST/OBC), there is a relaxation of 10% so they have to secure a minimum of 40% to be eligible. General physically handicapped candidates have to secure a minimum of 45%. Aspirants who are appearing in 10+2 examination in 2017 may also appear provisionally subject to their fulfilling the conditions later on.

If two or more candidates have equal score in the exam, preference will be given to

  • Candidate having higher marks in Biology/Biotechnology in NEET 2017.
  • Candidate having higher marks in Chemistry in NEET 2017.
  • Candidate older in age.

The qualified candidates fulfilling the admission eligibility criteria have to report the college for the verification and fee submission process.
