Government Medical College and Hospital, Chandigarh offers admission in MBBS/BDS courses through NEET 2017 exam. Only those candidates who will clear NEET 2017 cut off will be eligible for the admission.

NEET 2017 will feature 412 medical colleges with total 52715 seats. 85 % seats are filled by state counselling process and rest 15 % of seats.

According to the previous year’s cut off trends of Government Medical College (GMC), Chandigarh. If a candidate (General Category) can get a rank in a range 30 to 150(AI Quota) then there are high chances of landing in GMCH, Chandigarh.

If, two or more candidates obtain equal marks in the exam, preference will be given to

  •  The candidates who have obtained higher marks in Biology/Bio-Technology in the NEET 2017.

  • The candidates who are older in age.

Government Medical College and Hospital(GMCH), Chandigarh Admission Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for bagging a seat in India’s Top 3rd Medical college one should fulfil the below mention criteria.

  • Age Limit- Candidate must be of minimum 17 years in age on or before December 31st, 2017 and should not exceed 25 years as on December 31st, 2017. For SC/ST/OBC candidates there is age relaxation of 5 years
  • Nationality: The candidate must be an Indian citizen or an Overseas Citizen of India (OCI)
  • Academic Eligibility: A candidate who has either passed or his appearing in the 10+2 or any equivalent examination from a recognized board of education with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Biotechnology as subjects of study is eligible. The candidates must also have scored a minimum of 50% marks in HSC. For reserved category (SC/ST/OBC) candidates, the minimum percentage required is 40%. Physically handicapped students from general category must have secured 45% marks.
