Assam NEET MBBS/BDS Counselling 2018

Assam NEET MBBS/BDS Counselling 2018 for institutes across the state will be commenced on the basis of NEET 2018 score. Seat allotment will be done through centralized counselling conducted by Dibrugarh University. Assam State Counselling will start post result announcement of NEET.

  • The application form for Assam NEET MBBS/BDS Counselling 2018 will be available in online mode at DME, Assam official website, dmeassam.gov.in.
  • In total, there are 726 MBBS and 40 BDS seats in the Assam.
  • The counselling for the 85% state quota will be organized by the Directorate of Medical Education, Assam.
  • Rest of the 15% (All India Quota), Medical Council Committee will hold the counselling.
  • The Admission in various institutes through each quota will be done on the basis of Merit List prepared. The Merit List sorts candidates on the basis of their performance in NEET 2018. 

NEET 2018 is unified national level medical entrance exam in which candidates attempt papers of physics, chemistry and biology. The last date to submit completely filled Application Form is expected to be in the first week of March 2018. The exam will be conducted in the first week of May 2018.

Assam NEET MBBS/BDS Counselling 2018 Important Dates

As mentioned earlier, the admission to medical and dental seats will be done through NEET. However, the state medical authority will conduct Medical counselling for 85% of the total available seats. The Counselling will expectantly start in the month of June 2018. Notification regarding the commencement of counselling will be released at dmeassam.gov.in and same will be updated at Collegedunia.com. Assam NEET MBBS/BDS 2018 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates appearing for Assam NEET MBBS/BDS Counselling 2018 are required to fulfil certain eligibility criteria. The Eligibility mentioned is mandatory and candidates failing to meet any of the listed criteria will be removed from the process.

Nationality

  • The applicant should be registered citizen of Assam.
  • The parent of the candidates must be living in Assam for not less than 20 years.
  • The above condition will not be applicable to son/daughter of officers of All India Services working in Assam.

Academic Qualification

  • Candidate must have studied Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English at 10+2 standard.
  • Applicant must have passed 10+2 with 60% aggregate marks and for the candidates belonging to SC/ST(P)/ST(H)/OBC/MOBC the minimum required marks are 50%.
  • The applicant must have studied from class 6 to 10 in the state of Assam.
  • The candidate must have appeared and qualified NEET 2018.

Age

  • Candidate must not be above 24 years or below 17 years of age on December 31, 2018.
  • For SC/ST Candidates: The upper age limit mentioned above is relaxed by 3 year.

Reservation of Seat 

Selection in Assam NEET MBBS/BDS Counselling 2018 will be made under 5 categories namely OC, SC, ST (Plains), ST (Hills) and PH reservations following the rules of reservation of the Government of Assam as follows. The Seats are reserved for candidates belonging to listed categories. The remaining 60% of the seats are open for unreserved applicants. Candidates claiming reservation under certain categories are required to present original document supporting their claim.

Assam NEET MBBS/BDS 2018 Application Form

The application form of Assam NEET MBBS/BDS Counselling 2018 will be available in the online mode. Below are the steps applicants need to follow to fill the application form-

  1. Go to dmeassam.gov.in.
  2. Click on the “MBBS/BDS Counselling 2018” link
  3. Read all the instruction and click on “Apply Now”
  4. Provide details like personal, academic, address and others
  5. Also, the candidates need to upload the scanned image of their photograph and signature.
  6. Verify your details and proceed to “Submit”
  7. After successfully submitting the online application form, candidates need to take print out of the e-challan and deposit requisite fee in any branch of State Bank of India.
  8. It is to be noted that the candidates will have to deposit INR 1240 (along with bank charges INR 60) as application fee on the second working day after the successful submission of the application form.
  9. The applicant will receive the copy of challan showing the transaction Id after the submission of fee.
  10. Also, it is advised to the candidates to take the print out of the Assam MBBS/BDS 2018 Application Form.
  • The size of the photograph should be between 35Kb to 20Kb
  • Size of signature should be between 30Kb to 15Kb.
  • The format of the signature and photograph should either be .jpeg or .jpg
  • After filling all the details login ID of the candidate will be created.
  • The candidates are advised to keep the password carefully created at the time of making login ID.
  • The login ID and password will be used further to login into the Assam MBBS 2018 Application Form

Assam NEET MBBS/BDS 2018 Counselling Process

DME Assam will conduct Assam NEET MBBS/BDS Counselling 2018 for registered candidates only. Counselling will be conducted in multiple rounds. At the end of each round, candidates will be allotted seats as per their choices and position in merit list. Here are some important points and guidelines regarding Assam NEET MBBS/BDS Counselling 2018.

  1. Assam NEET MBBS/BDS 2018 Counselling will be organized in the offline mode
  2. The candidate participating in the counselling procedure need to fill the separate application form (form B).
  3. The candidates will have to pay INR 500 as the counselling fee.
  4. The candidates need to be present with all the necessary documents before the admission committee.
  5. As per the merit list and order of the preference, the seat will be allocated to the candidate.
  6. The candidate will have to pay the counselling fee in the interview round.

Documents Required in Assam NEET MBBS/BDS Counselling 2018

Below are the documents required to be produced at the time of the verification.

  • The Candidates need to bring Form – B in the original duly and properly filled in along with all relevant annexure certificate attached with Form-’B’
  • NEET 2018 Rank card
  • NEET 2018 Admit Card
  • Class 10 Mark sheet and Certificate
  • Class 12 Mark sheet and Certificate
  • Recent passport-size photograph (4 copies)
  • Character Certificate from Head of the Institution last attended
  • Permanent Residence Certificate (PRC) (to be issued by D.C./S.D.O. (Civil) of concerning District/Sub-Division)
  • Academic Gap Certificate (if applicable)
  • Caste/Category Certificate (if applicable)

Note: A set of all the documents mentioned above has to be submitted by the candidates. These documents should be self-attested by the candidates.

Hi Manish, The NEET Entrance Exam is a national level entrance test for MBBS/BDS admissions after class 12. if you want to get admission in best college for MBBS, you need to appear for this exam and Admission to medical courses will now be done through NEET, as directed by the Supreme Court.
