NEET 2017 Answer Key released by Aakash, Allen, Career Point and Resonance

NEET 2018 will be conducted on May 6, 2018 for admission into undergraduate medical and dental courses. To prepare well, candidates must solve the previous year’s question to get a hold on the type of questions asked in the exam. 

NEET 2017 Answer Key was released by reputed coaching institutes like Aakash, Resonance, Allen Kota etc. soon after the exam. The answer key will enable candidates to evaluate and analyze their performance. 

The exam is conducted every year by CBSE to admit candidates into MBBS and BDS courses across the various medical and dental colleges participating in NEET.

The exam is conducted every year by CBSE to admit candidates into MBBS and BDS courses across the various medical and dental colleges participating in NEET. Application process for NEET 2018 has already commenced and the last date to fill the form is March 9, 2018.


NEET 2017 Paper Analysis

NEET 2017 comprised of three subjects: Physics, chemistry, Biology (Botany & Zoology). Each subject had 45 questions and each question carried 4 marks with a penalty of 1 mark for every wrong answer. Candidates must be aware of the NEET Exam Pattern before appearing for the exam.

In this article, we have covered a detailed summary of NEET 2017 paper analysis so that candidates can assess the areas they need to pay more attention to.

NEET 2017 Paper Analysis: Physics

Physics had a total of 45 questions. The section was lengthy and included lengthy calculations. A lot of questions were asked from private publications and NCERT textbooks did not carry much weightage. This section was pretty balanced as per the NEET syllabus and the important topics.

The difficulty level ranged from moderate to difficult as most of the concepts were not tough to solve but they included extensive calculations. Hence, this section tends to be lengthy.

NEET 2017 Paper Analysis: Chemistry

NEET chemistry section had 45 questions which was well balanced between organic and inorganic chemistry. Chemistry section was comparatively easier. Just like Physics, chemistry section also covered some questions beyond the NCERT textbook. However, the questions were pretty direct and thus, not such a hassle for students since they did not require much time. If one knew the formula well, then chemistry section was a no brainer.

NEET 2017 Paper Analysis: Biology

The biology section was divided into botany and zoology with 45 questions eeacheach for both. The biology section was of easy to moderate difficulty. The question paper gave equal weightage to Class 11 and Class 12 syllabus. In biology, the whole syllabus was important as it was evenly distributed in terms of important topics. Genetics and biotechnology were the toughest topics in NEET 2017.

Display of OMR Sheet

There is an opportunity for candidates to access their NEET OMR Sheet, from the CBSE’s official website. The OMR sheets would be published by CBSE on its website in the last week of May 2018. Candidates can check their OMR sheet with the help of following steps:

  • Visit the official website of CBSE- cbseneet.nic.in
  • Enter your login credentials- User ID/Registration Number and password.
  • Click on ‘submit’ button.
  • The OMR Sheet would appear on the screen.
  • Candidates should download and save this OMR Sheet for future reference.

Challenging official answer key

The announcement of official answer key will be done with publication of OMR sheet on official website. Once these are released, CBSE will allow the candidates to register their grievance (if any) with regards to the official answer keys through an answer key challenge procedure. Candidates would be allowed to submit their grievance only via online mode by submitting a fee of INR 1000 per question. The fee will be refunded only if the challenge is found to be correct. Challenging of answer is allowed only for a specific time period which will be notified by CBSE on its website.

Candidates must perform the following steps in case they want to challenge NEET 2018 official answer key.

  • Visit the official website of CBSE.
  • Fill the detailed form provided for this purpose on the website.
  • Mention all the answer for which you want to challenge the official answer key.
  • Upload the supporting document/documents and the required fee.
  • Click on submit.
  • After successful completion of document updating and fee payment process, a window will appear on the screen that would confirm the successful submission of the challenge.
  • Candidates should take a snapshot or printout of the screen displaying above message for future reference.

The entire procedure will be conductd online and no offline aplications for the same will be entertained.


How to Tally NEET 2018 scores?

Candidates would be able to evaluate their scores by comparing their OMR Sheet and official answer key released by CBSE. The answers can be tallied by comparing the answers marked in answer key with published answer key. If the answer matches, candidate will be rewarded with 4 marks, whereas penalty of 1 mark will be levied for marking incorrect response.

Based on this, candidates will be able to get a rough idea of how much they will score in NEET 2018. It is necessary for candidates to meet the minimum required cut off as released by CBSE. Once qualified, candidates will be called for NEET counselling process.


NEET 2017 Cut Off

The cut off for NEET 2018 would depend upon various factors like:

  • Number of applicants for exam
  • Seats available
  • Difficulty level of the question paper
  • Marking Scheme for particular year and other related factors

The cut off also varies from college to college and course to course. For your, reference we have tabulated the expected cut off (based on previous year cut off trends) for NEET 2018.

Hello, i am US citizen living and studying in ahmedabad,india since 6th grade, i have OCI card and also got Aadhar card. question 1. what kind of selection should i make to apply for NEET UG? with aadhar card or passport? question 2. if i select OCI, am i still eligible to get admission in State 85% quota if i secure enough marks in NEET? or i must go for state NRI quota to get admission? can you please guide?

Hi Nilesh, You can apply for NEET UG with your Passport Number. And, Yes. Indian Nationals and Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) are Eligible for appearing in the NEET-UG, 2018 and also eligible for seats under 15% All India Quota. Eligibility of OCI candidates for admission under seats in the control of States/Universities/Institutions shall be ascertained before applying for NEET-UG, 2018.

Hi Yogita, The form correction facility is expected to commence in the second week of March-2018. The corrections can be done online at cbseneet.nic.in. Candidates have to visit the official website and access their NEET application form using login credentials.
