NEET 2017 Answer Key released by Aakash, Allen, Career Point and Resonance

NEET 2017 Answer Key has been released unofficially by reputed coaching institutes like Aakash, Resonance, Allen Kota etc. The answer key will enable candidates to evaluate and analyze their performance in the exam conducted on May 7, 2017. Candidates would be able to access NEET 2017 answer keys once CBSE publishes it on their website. The official answer key takes some time to be published.

NEET is conducted every year by CBSE to induct candidates in MBBS and BDS courses across various medical and dental colleges across the country. The exam is held at national level and serves the purpose of an All India medical entrance exam. NEET 2017 Paper Analysis

National Eligibility cum Entrance Test paper was successfully held on May 07 across various NEET exam centers all over India. This year, as many as 7,42,391 applicants appeared for National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) 2017. Unlike the previous year, NEET 2017 held only in one phase covering all the subjects: Physics, chemistry, zoology, and botany. Each subject had 45 questions and each question carried 4 marks with a penalty of 1 mark for every wrong answer. Out of the qualified candidates, only top 15 percent will be further qualified for the NEET counseling process.

NEET 2017 provides medical aspirants a better chance to get admissions into medical colleges. Since the introduction of NEET, there is an increase of the total number of seats with the inclusion of 100 per cent seats from the government as well as private institutions. The only downside in making NEET as the only gateway to medical colleges might be the increased difficulty and competition level of the examination. NEET 2017 Paper Analysis: Physics

Here is the Paper Analysis for NEET 2017 exam, covered subject wise. Starting with Physics.

Physics:  Physics section had a total of 45 questions. The section was lengthy, requiring long calculations. Most questions were from out of the NCERT Textbook Scope, probably from the private publications like H.C. Verma. NEET 2017 physics section was pretty balanced as per the syllabus and the important topics of each concern. The difficulty level was moderate to difficult as most of the concepts were not that hard to solve but then again, they could eat up your time as they included extensive calculations.

NEET 2017 Paper Analysis: Chemistry

NEET chemistry section had 45 questions which was well balanced between organic and inorganic chemistry. Chemistry section was comparatively easier to solve. Just like Physics even chemistry section covered some questions beyond the NCERT textbook. It was not big worry to candidates as these questions were pretty straight forward and not hard or time-consuming. If one knew the formula well, then chemistry section was a no brainer. If one solved chemistry keeping in mind thoroughly the important concepts.

NEET 2017 Paper Analysis: Biology

The biology section was divided into two sections namely botany and zoology with a total of 90 questions, 45 each for both. The biology section was of easy to moderate difficulty. The question paper gave equal weightage to Class 11 and Class 12 syllabus. In biology, the whole syllabus was important as it evenly distributed in term of important topics. NEET biology was a well-balanced paper covering concepts and questions from 11th & 12th class textbooks equally. Genetics and biotechnology were the favorite topics and toughest in NEET 2017. The distribution between botany and zoology was around 70 to 40%.

Display of OMR Sheet

There is an opportunity for candidates to access their NEET 2017 OMR Sheet, from the CBSE’s official website. The OMR sheets would be published by CBSE on its website in the last week of May 2017. Candidates can check their OMR sheet with the help of following steps:

  • Visit the official website of CBSE-
  • Enter your login credentials- User ID/Registration Number and password.
  • Click on ‘submit’ button.
  • The OMR Sheet would appear on the screen.
  • Candidates should download and save this OMR Sheet for future reference.

Challenging official answer key

The announcement of official answer key will be done with publication of OMR sheet on official website. Once these are released, CBSE will allow the candidates to register their grievance (if any) with regards to the official answer keys through an answer key challenge mechanism. Candidates would be allowed to submit their grievance only through online mode with supporting document and fee of INR 1000 per question. The fee will be refunded only if challenge is found to be correct. Challenging of answer is allowed only for a specific time period which will be notified by CBSE on its website.

Candidates must perform the following steps in case they want to challenge NEET 2017 official answer key.

  • Visit the official website of CBSE.
  • Fill the detailed form provided for this purpose on the website.
  • Mention all the answer for which you want to challenge the official answer key.
  • Upload the supporting document/documents and the required fee.
  • Click on submit.
  • After successful completion of document updating and fee payment process, a window will appear on the screen that would confirm the successful submission of the challenge.
  • Candidates should take a snapshot or printout of the screen displaying above message for future reference.

The entire challenging mechanism is available in online mode only and no offline challenging mechanism would be there.

How to Tally NEET 2017 scores?

Candidates would be able to evaluate their scores by comparing their OMR Sheet and official answer key released by CBSE. The answers can be tallied by comparing the answers marked in answer key with published answer key. If the answer matches, candidate will be rewarded with 4 marks, whereas penalty of 1 mark will be levied for marking incorrect response.

Based on this, candidates will be able to get a rough idea of how much they will score in NEET 2017. It is necessary for candidates to qualify to the minimum required cut off as released by CBSE. Once qualified, candidates will be called for counselling process.

The cut off for NEET 2017 exam would depend upon various factors like:

  • Number of applicants for exam
  • Seats available
  • Difficulty level of the question paper
  • Marking Scheme for particular year and other related factors
