MBBS Colleges Not Under CBSE NEET 2017

For MBBS and BDS admissions 2017, NEET will be conducted as an unified exam. It was introduced last year replacing all the state level entrance exams conducted in India.

MCC will conduct a centralised counselling process for all the participating states. The 15% All India Quota seats will be filled on the basis of NEET score.  For filling up of rest of the seats, state wise counselling will be organised by the respective exam authorities. NEET Results will be out on June 8, 2017 and counselling will begin from June 10, 2017.

The main objective behind introducing NEET is to bring a transparency in medical admissions throughout the country. However, Some institutes are still not in favor of NEET. The institutes which falls under the category of not accepting NEET Score are:-

Apart from these colleges, some colleges like Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC) will conduct a separate second round screening exam.


AIIMS MBBS 2017

AIIMS MBBS 2017 will be conducted on May 28, 2017. It will be conducted in online mode. There will be 4 sections of 60 questions each and one section containing 20 questions. Physics, Chemistry, and Biology would be the sections comprising of 60 questions each whereas GK/Current affair section would comprise of remaining 20 questions. One mark is awarded for each correct answer whereas 0.33 marks would be deducted for wrong ones.

Based on their performance in AIIMS 2017, candidates would be called for counselling, choice locking, and seat allotment process. In order to qualify the exam, the candidate is required to score marks equal to or above the stipulated cut-off set by the conducting authority.


JIMPER MBBS 2017

JIPMER conducts a computer based objective test of its own for inducting candidates in MBBS/BDS courses. The exam comprises of 200 questions divided into four sections namely Physics, Chemistry, Biology, English language and comprehensions, and Logical and quantitative reasoning. Physics, Chemistry, Biology comprise 60 questions each while the remaining twenty questions are asked from English and logical aptitude section. The exam duration is 150 minutes.

Candidates who will clear the exam by scoring marks equal to or greater than the stipulated  cut-off would be called for counseling, choice locking and seat allotment process.


AFMC 2017

Apart from these colleges, AFMC Pune conducts a second round of screening for those candidates who clear NEET exam. In case candidates fail in his second round of screen conducted by AFMC then he/she would not be admitted even if he/she has scored the minimum qualifying marks in NEET.

State colleges not under NEET

All the participating states reserves  85% of the total seats in MBBS/BDS colleges in their jurisdiction for candidates belonging to that particular state. A separate NEET Merit list will be prepared by state authorities for such seats.  Rest 15% seats in these colleges fall under All India Quota of NEET and are under direct control of central government. The counseling and seat allotment on these seats is done as per central government notifications and rules.

The counselling, choice locking, and seat allotment for seats under these exams are done by Joint Examination Authority of that particular state using NEET 2017 Scores. Only those candidates who satisfy the cut-off criteria set by the conducting authority would be called for counselling and choice locking process. The final decision with regards to seat allotment rests with the Joint examination authority.
