Jammu and Kashmir MBBS Counselling through NEET

Applications for admission in MBBS and BDS institutes across Jammu and Kashmir are invited. Students applying for MBBS programmes in J&K must have cleared NEET 2017. The merit list of NEET 2017 which was conducted on May 07 is released at mcc.nic.in.  NEET Counselling for interested students will start from the third week of July 2017. Jammu and Kashmir MBBS Counselling through NEET

NEET 2017 Merit List for J&K Students is prepared by CBSE (Central Board) using marks scored by students in NEET 2017. The Counseling will be organized based upon the Rank that is obtained in NEET-2017

  • NEET qualified students are notified about counselling schedule through the official website of NEET.
  • The schedule is based on the rank obtained by the applicants in the merit list.
  • All applicants make note that none of the information regarding the schedule of the counselling of JK MBBS Admission 2017 is sent individually.
  • The counselling procedure tentatively starts in the 3rd week of July, 2017. All applicants thus appear personally for the counselling session.
  • If due to some unavoidable circumstances the candidate fails to appear for the counselling session, an authorised representative can be deputed with all the required original documents. Incase this is not possible then one can attend counseling next day by paying fine of Rs.750 along with counseling fee of Rs.1000 thus making it Rs.1750.

In the case where same rank has been obtained by more than one candidate, the marks thus obtained in subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology for qualifying examination shall be considered.

In case of any further tie, the senior candidate shall be given preference in the merit list.


J&K Seat Allotment through NEET 2017

Allotment of seats in MBBS is done strictly based on merit of eligible applicants that is determined by the rank obtained in NEET 2017. Applicants shall be called in for counseling according to rank. Consequently, all the eligible applicants above the respective cutoff will be allotted seats in various medical and dental institutes of Jammu and Kashmir.

The applicant needs to join the allotted institute within the specified time period. Failure to join in time, the institute can disqualify the applicant. The second round of counseling shall take place if there still are vacant seats available after the first round of counseling.


Documents Required in Jammu and Kashmir MBBS Counselling

The documents that are required for the counseling for MBBS are as per below

  • Admit Card – downloaded by the candidate from form filled online from BOPEE website, as in original
  • Qualifying examination’s Mark Card
  • Permanent Resident Certificate
  • Certificate of Date Of Birth( DOB)
  • Character Certificate
  • Reserved Category Certificate, if a person is from any
  • A set of Attested copies of all certificates

Jammu and Kashmir MBBS Admission Process

The application form for admission gets available online for the counselling session. Applicants whose names are declared in the merit list that is released by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) shall be required to report to office of JAKBOPEE office in order to fill up the counselling form and register themselves.

  • Registration Form shall be filled up by the applicant personally. Candidates have to fill in the application form providing all the details accurately.
  • Preference of choice of courses and colleges has to be filled in by the applicants. The names of institute have to be filled in the order of candidate’s preference. 
  • Applicant are also expected to pay for the counselling fee. The form is to be submitted with the JKBOPEE office, after which the counselling session shall start for all eligible applicants.

Jammu and Kashmir MBBS Participating Colleges with Cutoff

The NEET examination is going to have two cutoff lists for all the states except for Andhra Pradesh, Telangana & Jammu & Kashmir. Mentioned 3 states have the special admission criteria in case of Medical courses.

  • Generally, only 15% of the admissions are conducted based on NEET and overall India Cutoff Ranks
  • Remaining 85% of the seats are to be filled by the NEET Jammu & Kashmir State Cutoff Ranks, 2017.

Jammu & Kashmir stands differently from the regular admission strategies. The Jammu & Kashmir conducts its 100% medical admission based on JK State NEET Cutoff only, this means that the candidates from other states are not at all allowed to join into Jammu –Kashmir   Medical Colleges & no student shall go to the other states for admissions from J & K.
