The NEET 2017 Notification is released at cbseneet.nic.in. The last date to submit the completely filled NEET 2017 Application Form is March 01, 2017. NEET 2017 is now the unified medical entrance across India catering to more than 100,000 students. Hence, there are chances of glitches happening or other problems being faced by candidates.

NEET 2017 General FAQs

Over the years, CBSE has received a lot of queries and requests regarding basic information about NEET (earlier AIPMT). CBSE included such queries as General FAQs. You can take reference from these listed FAQs.

Q) What is National Eligibility cum Entrance Test UG (NEET-UG)?

NEET, replacing AIPMT and all other State medical entrance exams, is now the common national- level medical entrance exam. The NEET 2017 scores will be accepted by a majority of medical colleges offering MBBS/BDS except AIIMSs and JIPMER.

Q) What is the responsibility of CBSE for NEET-UG, 2017?

The responsibility of the CBSE is limited to conducting the entrance test, declaring the result and providing the All India Ranks to the Directorate General of Health Services, New Delhi for conducting counselling of 15% All India Quota seats and providing the result to the State Counselling Authorities and admitting institutions.

Q) Can I change the option of language once the form is submitted?

Options once submitted, cannot be changed after the submission of the application form. As centers will be allotted based on the medium of question paper, candidates need to be very careful in choosing their medium of attempting the question paper.

Q) If any candidate face problem in filling up of form, to whom can he approach?

1. Common Services Centres will act as the Facilitation Centres this time and will provide the relevant services against the fee prescribed.

2. They are advised to acquaint themselves with the application form given in Information Bulletin and also on website.

3. They can go through the demo replica of NEET-UG, 2017 application.

Q) If a candidate born in USA and studied in India and holding OCI Card wants to apply for NEET-UG, 2017 is he/she is eligible for NEET-UG, 2017?

Yes. Indian nationals and Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) are eligible for appearing in the NEET-UG, 2017 and also eligible for seats under the 15% All- India quota. Eligibility of OCI candidates for admission to seats in the control of States/universities/institutions shall be ascertained before applying for the NEET-UG, 2017.

Q) When NEET-UG, 2017 will be conducted?

NEET-UG, 2017 will be conducted on May 07, 2017 (Sunday).

Q) If I am opting Assamese as language of question paper, can I get the centre of examination in Delhi?

No. If a candidate is opting for a vernacular language as the medium of attempting the question paper, they will be allotted a center located only in the respective State of the particular vernacular language. In the present case, the examination center can only be located in Assam.


NEET 2017 Eligibility Criteria

The candidates appearing for NEET 2017 must fulfill the standard eligibility criteria as per their category. Queries and questions related to​ NEET Eligibility is mentioned below.

Q) What is the minimum qualification for appearing in NEET-UG, 2017 for candidates of unreserved category?

  • Any examination which in scope and standard (Last 2 years of 10+2 Study comprising Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Bio-technology, including practical tests in these subjects) is found to be equivalent to the Intermediate Science Examination of an Indian University/Board, with Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Bio-technology as the main subjects including practical tests in each of these subjects, besides English.
  • To be eligible for the competitive entrance examination, the candidate should have passed any of the qualifying examinations enumerated in the bulletin or should be appearing in the qualifying examination in 2017.
  • Also, to be eligible for the competitive entrance test, the candidate should have passed in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Bio-technology and English individually and should have obtained a minimum aggregate score of 50% marks as mentioned in Clause (2) of Regulation 4 on the Graduate Medical Education Regulations 1997.

Q) What is the minimum qualification for appearing in NEET-UG, 2017 for candidates of reserved category?

  • Any examination which in scope and standard (last 2 years of 10+2 Study comprising Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Bio-technology, including practical tests in these subjects) is found to be equivalent to the Intermediate Science Examination of an Indian University/Board, with Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Bio-technology as the main subjects, including practical tests in each of these subjects, besides English..
  • To be eligible for the competitive entrance examination, the candidate should have passed any of the qualifying examinations enumerated in the bulletin or should be appearing in the qualifying examination in 2017.
  • With respect to candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes or Other Backward Classes, the minimum aggregate eligible score in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Bio-technology (combined) is 40%, and is 50% for General candidates..

Q) What is the mean by PH-1 & PH-2 category?

Differently abled candidates as per MCI guidelines are:

PH-1Candidates with locomotor disability of lower limbs from 50% to 70%
PH-2Candidates with locomotor disability of lower limbs from 40% to less than 50

Q) What is the minimum qualification for appearing in NEET-UG, 2017 for candidates of physically handicapped category?

  • Any examination which in scope and standard (last 2 years of 10+2 Study comprising Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Bio-technology, including practical tests in these subjects) is found to be equivalent to the Intermediate Science Examination of an Indian University/Board, with Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Bio-technology as the main subjects, including practical tests in each of these subjects, besides English.
  • To be eligible for the competitive entrance examination, the candidate should have passed any of the qualifying examinations enumerated in the bulletin or should be appearing in the qualifying examination in 2017.
  • Further, for persons with locomotive disability of the lower limbs, a minimum score of 45% for Gen-PH and of 40% for SC-PH/ST-PH/OBC-PH are required.

Q) What is the minimum qualification for appearing in NEET-UG, 2017 for candidates of Foreign Nationals?

  • Any examination which in scope and standard (last 2 years of 10+2 Study comprising Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Bio-technology, including practical tests in these subjects) is found to be equivalent to the Intermediate Science Examination of an Indian University/Board, with Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Bio-technology as the main subjects, including practical tests in each of these subjects, besides English.
  • To be eligible for the competitive entrance examination, the candidate should have passed any of the qualifying examinations enumerated in the bulletin or should be appearing in the qualifying examination in 2017.
  • Further, for persons with locomotive disability of the lower limbs, a minimum score of 45% for Gen-PH and of 40% for SC-PH/ST-PH/OBC-PH are required.

NEET 2017 Exam Pattern FAQs

The NEET 2017 will be conducted in the offline mode on May 07, 2017 across 3 sections, viz. Physics, Chemistry and Biology. The Biology section holds 50% weightage of the total paper with 2 subsections- Zoology and Botany.

Q) If a candidate is opting Oriya as medium of question paper, would he be eligible for 15% All India Quota?

Candidates qualifying the NEET would be eligible for the All- India quota and other quotas under the respective State governments/institutes, irrespective of the medium in which the examination is taken by the candidate, subject to other eligibility criteria.

Q) What is the number of attempts for appearing in NEET-UG?

The maximum number of attempts which a candidate can avail of, at the NEET-UG examination is limited to 3, uniformly for all candidates. Candidates who have already appeared in AIPMT/NEET on 3 occasions are not allowed to take this examination.

Q) If a candidate is opting Hindi as medium of question paper, in which language candidate will be provided Test Booklet?

Candidates opting for Hindi as the medium of attempting the question paper would be provided a Bilingual Test Booklet, i.e. both in Hindi and English. In case of any ambiguity in the translation of any of the questions, its English version shall be treated as final.

Q) If a candidate is opting vernacular language as medium of question paper, in which language candidate will be provided Test Booklet?

Candidates opting for vernacular languages would be provided Bilingual Test Booklet i.e. in selected language and in English. In case of any ambiguity in the translation of any of the questions, its English version shall be treated as final.


NEET 2017 Result & Counselling FAQs

The result of NEET 2017 is expected to be out in June 2017. Seats in colleges across India will be allotted on the basis of the 15% All- India and the remaining 85% State quota seats respectively.

Q) Is there any seat in MBBS/BDS on which admission will be made without appearing in NEET-UG?

No. Admissions for 100% of the MBBS/BDS seats will be done through the NEET-UG only.

Q) How the merit list will be prepared by the States?

States will prepare their own merit lists based on the All- India Ranks keeping in view the category of the candidates.

Q) Can one see images of OMR sheets and Responses on website?

The images of the OMR Sheets and Responses captured by the machine will be displayed on the website www.cbseneet.nic.in. For the exact date of hosting, candidates may keep referring to the website.

Q) How the CBSE will declare the result?

CBSE will declare the result based on the qualifying criteria provided by the Medical/Dental Council of India wherein All India Ranks will be awarded to the candidates in terms of percentile ranks.
