CBSE adds 23 new exam centers for NEET 2017

Central Board of Secondary education has decided to increase NEET 2017 Exam Centers for the exam scheduled on May 07. CBSE has increased 23 new cities in the Exam Center list of NEET exam. The decision was taken by CBSE owing to the massive registration by candidates for NEET 2017.

The NEET Form Correction window to change the exam center is now open. Candidates can edit their test city from the list of new;y added exam centers till March 31, 2017.

For past couple months CBSE received frequent requests from the applicants to increase the exam centers to make the process easy for candidates living in remote areas. With the monumental decision by Supreme Court to make NEET single unified entrance for medical admission in India, the exam has become one of the most registered and most talked about exam of the country.

Comparing previous year statistics, NEET 2017 has seen a rise of 41.42% in the number of successfully registered candidates. There are a total of 802,594 successful registrations for which CBSE will release Admit Card on April 15, 2017.


NEET 2017 Exam Centers Added

Looking at the mammoth increase in number of registered candidates this year, Ministry of Human Resources and Development has desired to increase 23 more new examination cities to the list of previous 80 Exam Centers. The following Exam Centers of NEET were added keeping in mind the registration statistics, location of previous exam centers and cities that were deprived of exam centers in the vicinity and had good number of registered candidates

Latest Updates on NEET 2017

The Registration for NEET 2017 is over now. Last date to register for the exam was March 01, 2017. The form correction window for the candidates was made available from March 07 to March 12. The Admit Card for successfully registered candidates will be released at official website from April 15, 2017. Candidates are advised to download the NEET 2017 admit card from cbseneet.nic.in. The Exam will be conducted in pen paper mode for 180 minutes on May 07, 2017. The Result of the exam will be declared on or after June 08, 2017. Candidates deemed qualified will be called for counselling which will be conducted in multiple rounds.


Important Instructions for NEET 2017

The Candidates appearing for the exam are advised to follow set of guidelines and instructions to ensure smooth conduct of the examination. Interested candidates should follow the mentioned guidelines.

  • Reach the exam center 45 minutes prior to the commencement of exam.
  • Don’t carry along any stationery products like pen, bits of paper, log table, scale, calculator, writing pad, eraser, pen drive, pencil box/pouch, any kind of textual material, etc.
  • The candidates will not be allowed to enter with any kind of communication devices like Mobile phones, Pager, Headphones, Microphone, etc.
  • Candidates must leave their wrist watch, camera, bracelet, etc., outside the examination center.
  • If any candidate is found with anything mentioned above will not be allowed to take the exam and action will be taken against the candidate as per the provision.

  • Candidates must wear slippers or sandals, shoes must be avoided by them.
  • The candidates coming in customary or any religious clothes must report at the examination hall by 8.30 for proper frisking. No special arrangements will be made for any articles of the candidates which cannot be taken inside the examination hall.

Documents Required at NEET Exam Center

Candidates are also required carry along some documents at the test center. The documents required at of utmost importance and should not be tampered with either before, while or after the test day. The documents required are mentioned below. Reference should be taken from the mentioned.

  • Photo id issued by the government of India.

The Candidates must carry along photo id preferably Aadhar Card. The photo id must be issued by Government of India and should clearly mention candidate’s name, date of birth and passport size photograph of the candidates

  • NEET 2017 Admit Card

Candidates must also bring along the admit card issued to candidate by Central Board of Secondary education. Admit Card is the most important document that verifies the candidature of the candidate. The details present on the Admit Card should comprise of information that’s accurate and is correct.


Highlights of NEET 2017

NEET exam comprises 4 sections namely Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology. Each section consists of 45 questions. The syllabus for NEET is based on the class 11th and 12th curriculum prescribed by CBSE. Candidates can check the major highlights of NEET Exam pattern mentioned below.

  1. Exam Mode – NEET 2017 exam will be conducted in Pen and Paper based mode. Candidates will be provided with OMR sheet on which they have to fill their responses. Only Ball point pen is to be used while filling response. The stationery will also provided to the candidates in NEET exam centers.
  1. No. of Questions – NEET 2017 question paper will have 180 questions. 45 questions from each section. There are 4 sections in exam Physics, Chemistry,  Botany and Zoology. 
  1. Type of Questions – NEET questions will be Multiple choice questions. There will be four choices to question. Candidates have to chose most appropriate answer.
  1. Languages – NEET 2017 can be given in 10 languages namely English, Hindi, Tamil, Gujarati, Telugu, Bengali, Assamese, Marathi, Oriya and Kannada. Candidates will have to fill their prefered language while filling the form. Once form is saved candidate can not change the language.
