Arunachal Pradesh MBBS Counselling through NEET 2017

Last Updated - June 30, 2017

The results of the much-awaited National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) are now announced (June 23, 2017). NEET Results are published on CBSE’s official website which the candidates can check by logging in using their user ID and password. This year a total of 65,000 seats in MBBS course and 25,000 seats in BDS course are to be filled through the NEET 2017.

As per Supreme Court’s directive, all the seats in MBBS and BDS courses across various colleges in the country are to be filled through NEET 2017 Counselling. AIIMS, JIPMER and AFMC Pune (conducts second round for NEET qualified candidates) are exempted from the purview of this directive as they conduct a separate entrance exam of their own.

This year the results got delayed due to various legal issues that arose due to the filing of cases in High Courts and Supreme Courts by students against discriminatory nature of paper in regional languages as compared to the English version of the paper. Earlier the results were expected to be announced on June 12, 2017.

Nevertheless, the results are out and the NEET Counselling for admissions into MBBS and BDS courses will kick off soon. The counselling would be scheduled by colleges in respective states as per their own separate schedule. Candidates can take apart in the counselling for MBBS and BDS colleges in the state of their domicile.

Apart from the MBBS and BDS seats in the colleges in states (of their domicile) candidates can also take part in the counselling for All India quota seats which amounts to 15% of the total seats to be filled through NEET 2017 exam. These seats are open for all and do not carry any criteria related to domicile. Seats under this quota are under the direct supervision of the central government.
