CUCET 2018 Application Form

CUCET 2018 Application Form will be made available online and candidates can only fill it up by logging in to the official website of CUCET,

  • Application forms will be available from the first week of April 2018.
  • Candidates can fill up the form till the first week of May 2018.
  • Candidates need to fill separate application forms if they are applying to more than one course.
  • Candidates can pay the application fee for CUCET 2018 through both online (credit/debit card or net banking) or offline (payment at State Bank of India) mode.
  • The application fee for CUCET will vary depending on the course they are applying for and the mode of payment.
  • The minimum academic qualification for CUCET 2018 is Higher Secondary for Undergraduate courses and Graduation for Postgraduate courses.
  • Candidates can follow the detailed eligibility criteria in sections below.

CUCET (Central Universities Common Entrance Test) is an exam conducted by the central universities of nine Indian states collaboratively. The exam is a national level exam for admission to various undergraduate, postgraduate and other courses of the central universities of Haryana, Jharkhand, Kashmir, Punjab, Tamil Nadu, Jammu, Karnataka, Kerala and Rajasthan.

Dates for CUCET 2018 Application Form

Candidates must note that the registration for CUCET 2018 can only be done online and no other mode of registration would be applicable. The following dates list down the important dates that the candidate needs to keep in mind while applying for CUCET 2018.

Candidates must note that the dates given above are tentative dates only and are subject to change by the exam conducting body. Candidates are advised to keep a check on the official CUCET website for any sort of notification related to change of dates or other.

CUCET 2018 Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility criteria for CUCET 2018 will vary from course to course. The basic eligibility such as age criteria may also differ depending on the course.

Candidates must note the eligibility criteria for CUCET 2018 from the following table:

How to Fill CUCET 2018 Application Form?

The first step in filling CUCET 2018 Application Form is the registration process. Before starting with the registration process, candidates must see to it that they have the following ready:

  • A valid, working email ID
  • A scanned version of a passport size photo
  • A scanned image of the candidate’s signature
  • Credit card/ Debit card/ Net Banking details in case the candidate is opting for online payment
  • The correct equivalent percentage of qualifying marks if the candidate’s qualifying exam had grade/CPGA

The detailed steps to fill out CUCET 2018 Application Form is given below:

Step 1: Registration:

  • Candidates have to visit the official website of CUCET 2018. After clicking on the ‘Apply’ button, the candidate can start filling in the registration form.
  • Candidate has to first choose the course for which he/she would be applying.
  • After clicking on the chosen link from the New Registration panel, a new page will open for the candidate to fill CUCET Application Form.

 They have to enter the following details to complete the CUCET Registration:

  • Candidate’s Name
  • Valid Email ID
  • Mobile Number
  • Date of Birth
  • Candidate’s choice of password
  • Verification Code or Captcha

A unique user Application ID will be generated for each candidate after the registration is complete.

Step 2: Filling the Application Form:

After getting the Application ID, the candidate has to complete the CUCET 2018 Application Form by providing the following:

  • Personal Details
  • Details of Qualifying Exam
  • Address of Correspondence
  • Preferred Exam Center

Step 3: Uploading of Images:

The candidate now has to upload his/her photograph and signature details as specified in the requirements on the CUCET 2018 website.

  • The size of the photograph should be between 10 kb to 100 kb. The size of the signature image should be between 5 kb to 10 kb.
  • The file type of the image and signature should be in .jpg or .jpeg only.
  • The candidate will receive a verification code which he/she needs to enter to proceed to the next step.

Candidate now can register for a maximum of 3 courses in a particular selected program (undergraduate/postgraduate/other) from each university. The candidate needs to enter the university code and choice of courses. Then he/she needs to click Save & Proceed to move on to next stage.

Guidelines for Photograph and Signature

Candidates have to upload a scanned image of his/her passport size photograph and signature as per the required specifications set by CUCET conducting body. The scanner resolution should be set to a minimum of 200 dpi (dots per inch) for the best results.

  • Candidates need to upload a recently clicked passport size photograph, It should be a coloured image and clicked against a light-coloured or white background
  • Candidates must ensure that the image is a front-faced photo. Angular photos and images with red eye are not acceptable as per the guidelines of the CUCET conducting body.
  • Candidates must see to it that their eyes are open in the image. Squint-eyed photos will not be accepted.
  • In case the candidate is wearing glasses, he/she must make sure that there is no reflection and the eyes can be seen clearly.
  • Caps, hats and dark glasses are not acceptable. Religious headwear is allowed but it must not cover the candidate’s face.
  • Dimensions of the picture should be 200 x 230 pixels.
  • Size of file should be between 10 kb to 100 kb.
  • File format should be strictly in .jpg/.jpeg.

Signature Image

  • The signature should be done on white paper in black inked pen only.
  • The signature will be used to put on the CUCET Hall Ticket and other places where necessary.
  • The dimensions of the signature image should be 140 x 60 pixels only.
  • The size of file should be between 5 kb and 20 kb.
  • The file format should strictly be in .jpg/.jpeg.

Procedure for uploading the photograph and signature

  • Candidates need to note that there will be separate links for uploading the scanned images of the photograph and signature.
  • Candidates need to click on the respective link for uploading the two files.
  • Candidates need to then browse and select the location where the scanned photo or signature file in their computer.
  • Candidates have to select the file by clicking on it.
  • Candidates then have to click the ‘Upload’ button to upload the images. Candidates must note that the online application will not be registered unless they have uploaded their photo and signature as specified by the guidelines.
  • Please note that in case the face in the photograph or signature is unclear the candidate’s application may be rejected.
  • Candidates are advised to take a printout of their system generated online application forms after registering.

Step 4: Payment:

This is the penultimate step of CUCET 2018 Application Form. Candidates can edit the form (in case he/she needs any changes) and go for their payment processing.

  • The application fee can be paid either via online mode or offline mode.
  • Candidate can choose any one of these methods for the payment of application fees: Net Banking/ Credit Card/ Debit Card and E-Challan.

CUCET 2018 Application Form Correction

Candidates will be allowed to edit their CUCET 2018 Application Form for a limited period of time. It can be done by logging in with the candidate’s login ID and password. Only the following information will be allowed to be edited:

  • Education Details
  • University Details
  • Contact Number
  • Email Address
  • Category

Candidates must note that once they have paid the application fee, CUCET online form cannot be edited. After completing the payment, candidates can also add additional courses of their choice by paying an additional amount of same fee. They can however not exceed three courses.
