Following are the conditions need to be fulfilled by the candidates:-
Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) Basic Science Stream– Candidates who are qualifying in SA (2013-14)/SX (2014-15)/SB (2014-15)
Joint Entrance Examination– Candidates who are securing atleast 60% marks in 12th standard and a place in the rank list of Joint Entrance Examination can apply for getting admission into Indian Institute of Technology.
State and Central Board– Those who have cleared 12th standard in 2014 or appearing in 2015 in science stream can apply if
They have marks more than or equal to cut off percentage proposed by DST as eligibility required for INSPIRE fellowship 2015. There is a relaxation of 5% in DST cut off for students belonging to OBC/Physically disable category. For SC/ST students and Kashmiri migrants, required percentage is 55% in 12th standard for all boards.

Candidates appearing through state and central board have to appear in the IISER 2015 Aptitude test and qualify it.
There are total 1000 seats available in all six IISERs. Following is the intake of seats through different channels:-
There will be upto 50% seats for all category students through KVPY and JEE Advanced
Rest of the seats will be available through state and central board on the basis of Aptitude test i.e. unfilled seats of KVPY and JEE Advanced will be filled through SCB.
