JEE Advanced 2017 Marks Vs Rank List

JEE Advanced 2017 counselling will be conducted on the basis of ranks secured in JEE Advanced exam. Last year, around 156,000 applicants registered for JEE Advanced entrance of which 147,678 appeared for the test. The ranks in the merit list will be allotted on the basis of marks secured in the entrance exam.

  • JEE Advanced 2017 will be conducted by IIT Madras.
  • It was held on May 21, 2017.
  • JEE Advanced 2017 rank list includes only those candidates who have appeared in both paper I and paper II of the entrance exam.
  • IITs along with ISM Dhanbad in 2016 have admitted 10,575 students at B.Tech level based on JEE Advanced Result.
  • Across 23 institutes, IIT Kharagpur admits (1,341) highest number of students followed by IIT BHU (1,090).
  • The IITs prepared nine rank lists caste and reservation wise including general, OBC, SC, ST, PWD category.
  • Last year, general category student was required to score a minimum of 75 marks of 372 to get a rank. It was 67 marks for OBC applicants and 38 for SC/ ST category candidates. Read JEE Advanced Cutoff

Criteria for Inclusion in JEE Advanced rank list

Tie Breaking in JEE Advanced

In JEE Advanced, if several candidates will get same marks, then JEE Advanced will follow a tie breaking policy to offer the ranks to the candidates. Candidates can go through following to know the tie breaking policy in JEE Advanced 2017 which are given below:

  • If two or more candidates secure same marks, in that case, tie breaking policy will be applicable. In this policy, candidates with higher marks in the subject of mathematics will be given higher rank.
  • If it does not break the tie to get a rank, then the candidate with higher marks in physics will be given in higher rank. At last, if it still doesn’t break the tie, then the candidates will be offered similar rank.
