NATIONAL LEVEL OFFLINE TEST
AAT (Architecture Aptitude Test) 2017 is an architecture entrance exam for admission into IITs into 5 years undergraduate B. Arch Course. AAT can be only taken by students who have qualified JEE Main 2017 and JEE Advanced 2017.

JEE Advanced 2017 AAT is scheduled to take place on June 14, 2017 from 9 am to 12 pm. No separate admit cards is issued for appearing in AAT.Candidates can appear for only if they have secured All India/category rank in JEE Advanced 2017. AAt will be conducted only at the 7 zonal IITs.
However, the seat allotment will be done based on the category wise All India Rank obtained in JEE Advanced. The test consists of one paper of three hours’ duration.
Candidates need to separately for AAT after the declaration of JEE Advanced 2017 Results and students have to give their preference for appearing in AAT 2017. Students who do not choose the option to appear for AAT while registering for JEE Advanced will not be able to appear in the exam. Candidates can register for JEE Advanced 2017 AAT from June 11, 2017 10:00 am to June 12, 2017 5:00 pm.
Everything happens in a very short window for this exam, JEE Advanced 2017 result will be declared on June 11 and on the same day the registration for AAT will start and end till June 12 at 5 PM. AAT exam will be held on June 14, 2017. AAT Result 2017 will be announced on June 18, 2017.

After the declaration of JEE Advanced Result 2017, candidates who will successfully qualify the exam can only apply for AAT 2017. Candidates who wish to join B. Arch. (Architecture) program at IIT Kharagpur and IIT Roorkee, will have to pass the Architecture Aptitude Test (AAT).
Applicants have to register for AAT 2017 on the official website of JEE Advanced. AAT 2017 Registrations will begin from June 11, 2017. Applicants will not get any separate admit card for AAT. The exam is scheduled on June 14, 2017. The duration of the exam is three hours.

The eligibility criterion for the AAT is very simple. Other than being eligible for both JEE Main & JEE Advanced the aspirant must-
Only those candidates who would have given B. Arch program (available at IIT Kharagpur and IIT Roorkee) as one of their choices while filling their choices online will be eligible to write AAT. Candidates must register online at JEE Advanced portal for this Aptitude Test between June 11 and June 12, 2017.
The test will consist of only one paper of three-hour duration from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm and the language of paper will be English. It comprises topics - Geometrical Drawing, Freehand Drawing, Imaging and Aesthetic Sensitivity, and Three Dimensional Perceptions.
Things to note for AAT
Candidates who have registered JEE advanced 2017 can download the admit card. If in case the admit card is not available for downloading, the candidate should contact the Chairman, JEE advanced 2017 of the respective zonal IIT. Candidates should check the entries in the admit card carefully and in case of any disparity contact the Chairman, JEE Advanced 2017 of the respective zonal IIT. No separate admit card for AAT will be provided. Candidate are expected to report at the examination center by 8:30 am.
AAT Admit card 2017 Details
The results for AAT will be declared within 5 days from the day of examination i.e. on or before June 19, 2017 and the cut off score for qualifying the exam will be decided by the committee of JEE Advanced. Candidates securing marks above the cut off will be declared PASS and no separate rank will be provided for AAT exam. The seat allotment will be done on the basis of category-wise All India Rank of JEE Advanced given that the candidate has secured more marks than the cut off declared.
Freehand Drawing: This would comprise of simple drawing depicting the total object in its right form and proportion, surface texture, relative location and details of its component parts in appropriate scale. Common domestic or day-to-day life usable objects like furniture, equipment, etc. from memory.
Geometrical Drawing: Exercises in geometrical drawing containing lines, angles, triangles, quadrilaterals, polygons, circles etc. study of the plan (top view), elevation (front or side views) of simple solid objects like prisms, cones, cylinders, cubes, splayed surface holders etc.
3-dimensional Perception: Understanding and appreciation of 3-dimensional forms with building elements, color, volume and orientation. Visualization through structuring objects in memory.
Imagination and aesthetic sensitivity: Composition exercises with given elements. Context mapping. Creativity checks through the innovative uncommon test with familiar objects. The sense of color grouping or application.
Architectural Awareness: General interest and awareness of famous architectural creations – both national and international, places and personalities (architects, designers etc.) in the related domain.
