SNAP Exam Pattern 2018

Symbiosis International University will release the notification SNAP Exam Pattern 2018 on its official website www.snaptest.org.

SNAP 2018 (Symbiosis National Aptitude Test) will be a pen and paper based test i.e. mode of exam is offline.

  • The medium of language will be English only.
  • The duration of exam will be 2 hours (120 minutes).
  • It will comprise multiple choice questions (MCQs) i.e. objective type questions.
  • The total number of questions asked in the entrance test will be 150.
  • Each question will have 4 alternative responses suggested as answers, out of which the individual must select one that seems the most appropriate choice.
  • The question paper will be divided into 4 sections- General English, Quantitative Ability, Current Affairs and Analytical & Logical Reasoning.
  • Every correct answer will be awarded +1 mark and negative marking scheme will be applicable.
  • The maximum marks a candidate can score is 150.

The syllabus will of Higher Secondary or 10+2 level. It will be at par with other national level management tests. The difficulty level of the exam is moderate.

The registration process for SNAP 2018 will begin from the third week of August 2018. The exam will be held in the third week of December 2018. The results will be announced on the official website in the first week of January 2018. SNAP exam will be given 50% weightage while making the final merit list.

SNAP 2018 Exam Pattern in Detail

SNAP 2018 is a conventional pen and paper based test. The exam paper will be available in the English language only. It will comprise of 150 objective questions to be solved within 120 minutes. The maximum marks a candidate can score in SNAP 2018 are 150. Applicants must choose the most appropriate answer out of 4 alternative options. They must note that negative marking is applicable in this test.

The question paper will be segregated into 4 sections- General English, Quantitative Ability, Current Affairs and Logical Reasoning. Applicants can choose to attempt any section as they want. They will be required to mark their answers on an OMR sheet. There is no restriction of solving a particular section within a stipulated amount of time.

SNAP Marking Scheme 2018

Applicants must know the marking scheme in order to decide how to attempt the questions in the aptitude entrance test. There has been no change in the marking scheme of SNAP 2018 and it is the same as it was for the year 2017. It should be noted that negative marking will be applicable for the test. The marking scheme is given as follows:

  • +1 mark will be awarded to students for marking every accurate answer.
  • There will be penalty of marks, charged for marking wrong or incorrect answers i.e. negative marking will be applicable. For every inaccurate answer, 1/4th mark will be deducted from the total score of candidates.
  • No mark will be deducted from the total score of the student for leaving a question blank or failure in attempting it.
  • The marking of two options will be considered as a wrong answer and negative marking will be applicable accordingly.

SNAP 2018 Exam Syllabus

The syllabus for SNAP 2018 is based on English, Mathematics and Logic of higher secondary school level knowledge. It will be as decided by SIU for every section. Aspirants must make sure that they follow the right syllabus to prepare well for the test. The section wise syllabus is given as follows:

General English

This section will assess the grasp an aspirant has on the English language. The test paper will comprise of questions based on a given passage. Candidates must comprehend the contents of the passage and answer these questions. An individual’s vocabulary, grammar, verbal ability and reasoning skills will also be tested in this section. The important topics for this section are:

  • Grammar
  • Vocabulary
  • Active and Passive Voice
  • Sentence Completion
  • Correction of Sentences
  • Jumbled Paragraphs
  • Synonyms
  • Antonyms
  • Comprehension of passages
  • Spot the error

Quantitative Ability

This section of the test evaluates the aspirant’s ability to solve numerical problems with accuracy and speed. It will include problems to evaluate how aspirants can work with numbers, do numerical calculations and understand various arithmetic questions. Important Instructions

It is the responsibility of every aspirant to ensure that they follow some rules and regulations to maintain the decorum of the exam hall so that the examination proceeds properly.

  • Applicants must report to the test center at least 30 minutes prior to the test.
  • They must bring the SIU issued Admit Card with recent, passport sized photo duly pasted on it, a valid photo ID proof and a Black or Blue ball point pen.
  • Students must darken the bubble in the prescribed way to mark their answers on the OMR sheet, otherwise it will not be considered.
  • Aspirants will not be permitted to create any disturbance inside the examination hall. Any gesture or conversation between individuals will be treated as breach of rules and action will be taken accordingly.
  • Candidates can approach the Centre Superintendent/ Invigilator in the room if they require any technical assistance, first aid emergency or any information regarding the test.
