NATIONAL LEVEL ONLINE/OFFLINE TEST
The exam season has begun with the arrival of March and so is the rush for admissions. With the kicking off of Class 12th board examinations from March 9th the countdown for the JEE Exam has started. Immediately after the board exams many of you would be sitting for the prestigious IIT-JEE exam in order to grab a seat in the college of your choice. This year the exam is scheduled to be held in the 1st week of April. The result for it would be declared in the month of May. The counselling is scheduled to be held in the month of June/July the dates for which would be notified later.
The marks that you will obtain in the JEE MAIN are crucial as, they will not only determine your faith at the time of JEE MAIN Counselling but will also help you in exploring more options. By options we mean that it would be helpful in grabbing you a seat in other prestigious institutes in case you fall short of getting into IIT’s or NIT’s.
While most of you are busy with your board exams there might not be enough time for you to ponder about the path after JEE Exam. Many of you might not be feeling confident about your preparations for JEE MAIN 2017 and might be expecting to score less. The very thought is enough to give you a scare. Well, don’t worry. To cut your tension out we are here providing you a list of those colleges that provide admissions to the candidates with a low score in JEE Exam.
Marks in JEE MAIN are directly linked to the rank which you will attain. Since the allocations of seats through JEE MAIN is done on the basis of ranking system it is important to note that what rank you would get as per your score. To get a fair bit of idea about your ranking in JEE MAIN based on your JEE MAIN score you can refer the following table.

NIT’s are the next big option once you realize that your score is not enough to grab a seat in the IIT’s. It is thus crucial to note that what the closing ranks are for various NIT’s so that you don’t miss on the college of your choice.

You might have got a fair bit of idea by now that what you can expect even if you are getting a low score in the JEE MAIN. Apart from the NIT’s mentioned in the above table, there are a number of other government funded and private institutes which admit students scoring below 120 marks in JEE MAIN. The list of such colleges is compiled below.

The list of colleges mentioned above is not exhaustive, there are certain state universities which also reserve seats for students from that particular state. Students can look for those options depending upon the state from where they completed their schooling. Other option would be to opt for the state-sponsored engineering exams which are held around the same time as IIT-JEE and are comparatively easier to crack.
The dates for counselling of JEE MAIN 2017 are not notified yet but the expected date for the beginning of counselling process is 1st week of July. Students who qualify JEE MAIN exam will be required to log in through the JEE website using their Roll no. and Password. The entire seat allocation process would be managed by Joint seat allocation Authority (JoSSA).
After logging in the students would be allowed to lock in their choices, however, the final allotment would be done by JoSSA only. Students who feel satisfied with the allotted college would have to confirm the allotment by paying the stipulated fee. The students are then required to inform the college authority (allotted college) about their confirmation. This is to be done by sending them an enclosure containing all the necessary documents mentioned by the JoSSA in the notification.
