JEE Main Cutoff 2017 for NIFFT Ranchi

JEE Main Cutoff 2017 will be taken into consideration while admitting students to National Institute of Foundry and Forge Technology (NIFFT) Ranchi. This institute came to existence in 1996 under the UNDP program to cater to the need of a large number of technicians. The primary aim of NIFFT is to train students for the metal manufacturing sectors viz. automobile, heavy engineering, component manufacturing etc.

NIFFT offers undergraduate, post graduate, doctoral and diploma courses to all eligible candidates. It will admit students to its B.Tech. programme (Metallurgy and Materials Engineering and Manufacturing Engineering) on the basis of JEE Main Cutoff 2017.

Manufacturing Engineering is designed to motivate and facilitate students to excel in understanding and development in advancement in technology presently used. As for Metallurgy and Materials, the course works upon the cutting-edge-technologies. Also, these departments carry out various research programmes and teachings in Materials Engineering.

How to apply in NIFFT?

All admissions in National Institute of Foundry and Forge Technology Ranchi will be based on a candidate’s performance in JEE Main 2017 only. No weightage wiil be given to class 12th performance while calculating ranks. However, candidates must secure 75% in their board examination (60% for SC/ST category) to be eligible for admission to NITs/IIITs/GFTIs. JEE Main Results is expected to be announced on or before April 27, 2017.

All qualifying candidates will be eligible to take part in JEE Main Counselling 2017. This year, Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) will be organizing counselling rounds beginning from June 2017. Seats will be allocated on the basis of merit and choice filled by candidates during online registration. It is expected that nearly 34000 will participate in JEE Main Counselling 2017.

Here are some factors considered by JoSSA while they allocate seats to eligible candidates:

  • The category of candidate- SC/ ST/ OBC/ NCL etc.
  • Candidate’s rank in the list
  • Seats available in JoSSA for each category
  • Course chosen by candidate, as per their priority
