JEE Main 2017: Documents Required at Exam Centre

JEE Main 2017 is just around the corner, the examination takes place within the first week of  April. Candidates appearing for JEE Main 2017 undoubtedly study hard for scoring the top marks. Hence, it is crucial to know all the important JEE main documents which are required in order to sit for the examination. These documents are supposed to be carried in the exam center which will confirm the applicant's identity.

The JEE Main Admit Card 2017 will be out in the first week of March. The links will be updated here as soon as they are up on the official website. JEE Main Admit Card is without a doubt the most important document a candidate should carry. If someone forgets it then, you will not be allowed to appear for the exam.

JEE Main is the most prominent national level exam in the country. It is the gateway to enter the IITs/NITs/IIITs and such other CFTIs. The candidates should have secured at least 75% (65% for SC/ST) marks in the 12th class examination to appear for JEE Main.


Documents to Carry at Exam Center

JEE Main 2017 Admit Card

Admit card is your main ticket to enter the examination hall. JEE Main admit card helps in confirming the applicant's details and approves the candidate to sit for the JEE Main Exam. It is compulsory for everyone to carry their admit card issued by CBSE to the allocated JEE Main Exam Center.

Aadhar Card / Passport (ID you entered during Registration)

Aadhaar is a 12-digit unique identification number issued by the Indian government to every individual resident of India. It is mandatory for the candidate to bring Aadhar or passport as a document to support your details on the admit card and to verify one's identity.

Students who have qualified class 12th examination and have not opted for improvement in 2017

  • Carry a Copy of Class 12 marks sheet  
  • Qualifying exam of marks statement of class 12
  • Qualifying exam of the year 2014 or 2015

Students who have qualified class 12th examination and have not opted for improvement in 2017:

  • Carry hall ticket for improvement of performance in class 12
  • Qualifying examination 2017

Students who are going to appear for the class 12th board exam in 2017:

  • Carry hall ticket for class 12
  • Qualifying examination 2016

What Not to forget while appearing for JEE Main 2017

Other than bringing along your JEE Main required documents there are many other minor things which one needs to keep in mind.

  • The registration desk will be closed five minutes prior to the examination. So it is advised to reach the exam center well in time.
  • The JEE main required documents as mentioned above.
  • The candidates will have to use ball point pen for the exam.
  • Find out the seat with your roll number and sit on the allotted seat only.
  • Candidates are not allowed to carry any baggage inside the examination center.
  • Any textual material, calculators, slide rules, log tables, electronic watches with facilities of calculator, printed or written material, bits of papers, mobile phone, pager and any other devices are not allowed.
  • No candidate should leave his/her seat or examination room until the exam is over without permission of the invigilator.
  • Eatables are not allowed inside the examination center. Smoking is not permitted on the premises.
