NATIONAL LEVEL ONLINE/OFFLINE TEST
JEE Main 2017 was conducted on April 08, 2017 in two shifts. It was held in online mode. The level of difficulty of the paper was moderate. JEE Main 2017 Answer key for Paper 1 along with solutions is available here. The answer key comprises correct answers to the questions asked in the question paper. With the help of answer key, candidates can calculate the total marks and analyze their exam performance. Some coaching institutes such as Aakash, Resonance, FIITJEE etc. also provide the tentative answer key which is made by their subject experts.

The official answer key for both offline and online mode will be published by CBSE on April 18, 2017. The OMR answer sheets along with the official JEE Main answer key will also be made available at jeemain.nic.in. The answer key will be taken into consideration for preparing JEE Main Result. Some coaching institutes release answer key with their solutions within a day.

The question paper of Paper 1 had four sets i.e. A, B, C and D. JEE Main Answer Key and Question Paper will be updated as soon as it is available. Candidates can even challenge the answer key if they find any discrepancy. Candidates have to login by using their Roll Number to download the answer key and response key. The answer is needed to the solved steps and answers for the questions and to compare the candidate’s answer with the actual answer. Candidates can challenge the answer key after April 18, 2017. If a candidate feels that any of answer of the answer is incorrect, can challenge it by filling the particular application form and paying the prescribed fee.
Candidates have to login by their Roll Number, Password and Security Pin. They have to pay INR 1000 per question in order to challenge JEE Main Answer Key. The challenges will be accepted online only through the link available on the official website of JEE Main upto 5 PM on April 22, 2017. The challenges against the answer key will be referred to the exam board constituted by CBSE.
If any candidate wants to challenge the answer key, they can apply for it before April 22, 2017 by following the steps given below.

JEE Main Paper consists of three sections i.e. Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Paper 1 comprises 90 multiple choice questions. Each section contains equal weightage with 30 questions. Each question carries four marks. JEE Main 2017 has a negative marking provision, one mark will be deducted for every answer. If candidate marked more than one option in an answer, there is a penalty of one mark.

Candidates can calculate their total marks out of 360 marks in JEE Main by using the formula given below.

JEE Main 2017 Paper 1 was conducted for admission to B.Tech. programs in IITS and NITs across the country. The result will be declared on April 27, 2017. As per the candidates, the overall difficulty level of the paper was moderate. Most of the questions were not as tricky or lengthy as the ones asked in the exam last year. The questions were asked from almost all the topics included in Physics syllabus. It was the toughest among all the sections. The questions based on Capacitor, Electrostatics, Heat and Mechanics were hard to attempt. Momentum Collision, Gravitation, Wave and Sound questions were quite easy to attempt. This section had 30 questions with the total of 120 marks.

As compared to Physics and Mathematics sections, the questions in Chemistry were direct and easy. Most of the questions were asked from S-D block elements, Chemical Bonding, Atomic Structure, Thermodynamics, Equilibrium, Redox, Solid State, Biomolecule, Hydrocarbon etc. There were 30 questions asked in the examination.

The level of difficulty of Mathematics section was moderate to difficult. Algebra contained highest weightage in the examination. Questions based on Differential and Integral Calculus were hard to score. Algebra, Trigonometry, Statistics questions were easy to score, if attempted properly. It consisted of 30 questions carrying 120 marks.
