JEE Main 2016 Rank List

JEE Main 2016 Rank List has been officially declared by Joint Admission Board (JAB) on June 23, 2016 at 7 p.m. The students who have appeared for JEE Main can now check their JEE Main All India Rank along with their scorecard in the same official link available for the result. Along with the All India Percentile Score of the student, the All India Rank of JEE main will be displayed in a table below.

How to Calculate JEE Main 2016 Score

The candidate’s class 12th marks or marks of any equivalent examination will have 40% weightage and JEE Main 2016 Score will have 60% weightage in deciding JEE Main Rank. The ultimate JEE Main 2016 All India Rank will be finalized based on the score obtained by the normalization formula.

Score Normalization Formula: c=0.6a+0.4b final, where a= Marks obtained in JEE 2016 Main and b=0.5(B1 + B2). B1 is the JEE Main Aggregate score corresponding to his/her percentile according to All India Level. B2 is the JEE Main aggregate score corresponding to the percentile at the State board level to which the student belong

Steps to check JEE Main 2016 Rank

The candidates appearing in JEE Main 2016 can follow these steps to check their JEE Main Rank.

  • The candidates can check the JEE Main Rank in thislink.
  • Upon clicking, the students will be directed to this page.


  • The candidates will have to enter his/her Roll No and Date of Birth.
  • Once submitted, the students can obtain his/her scorecard along with the category wise JEE Main 2016 All India Rank. A sample of JEE Main Rank is given below.


Features of JEE Main Rank Card

The JEE Main 2016 Rank Card will explain the following features detailed below.

  • Personal Details: Name of the candidate, Father’s Name, Mother’s Name, Roll No, Category (GEN/OBC/SC/ST/PwD) and Sub Category if any).
  • Percentile score in qualifying examination: Candidate’s JEE Main 2016 score in Paper I and Paper II.
  • Qualifying Examination Normalized Score (b): This the candidate’s board score obtained by normalization formula which is B=0.5(B1 + B2). 40 % of this will be considered in calculating the total score.
  • Total (c): This the candidate’s score which is determined by taking 60 % of the JEE Main score (a) and 40% of the normalized board score (b).
  • Section-wise marks of JEE 2016 Main: For both Paper I and Paper II the section wise marks will be displayed.
  • JEE Main All India Rank: Below the JEE Main 2016 Scorecard the individual JEE Main Rank will be displayed according to the category of the student. For example if he/she falls under OBC, OBC-PwD as well as CRL category, his/her category wise rank will be individually mentioned.

The JEE 2016 AIR list will be considered for admission to 31 National Institutes of Technology (NITs), 20 Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IITs) and 18 other Technical Institutes funded by Government (GFTIs). There will be separate JEE Main rank list for admissions to B.E. / B. Tech. and B.Arch./ B. Planning in institutes other than IITs. This JEE Main AIR will be considered for their admission to various engineering programs in accordance with JoSAA 2016 counselling.
