JEE MAIN 2018 NEWS
NATIONAL LEVEL ONLINE/OFFLINE TEST
The Government of India has a scheme for States and Union Territories which do not have engineering colleges or polytechnics or have lack of educational facilities in specific fields of technical education. The Indian Government thus offers a reservation scheme of few seats in Engineering/Technology/Architecture/Pharmacy courses conducted at degree level technical Institutions approved by the AICTE for certain categories including foreign students.
This scheme has been introduced in order to have maximum participation of eligible candidates from various North Eastern States and Union Territories. The ministry conducts seat allotment through a Centralized Seat Allotment Board for North Eastern States and Union Territories (CSAB NEUT). Twelve North East States and UTs are a part of this scheme, namely, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Manipur, Nagaland, Sikkim, Tripura, Dadar & Nagar Haveli, Daman & Diu, Andaman & Nicobar Islands and Lakshadweep)
CSAB NEUT will allot seats to candidates on the basis of their All India Rank (AIR) in JEE Main-2016 to Engineering/Technology and Architecture courses. Allotment for pharmacy courses will be on the basis of percentage of marks obtained in HSC (equivalent to 10+2). Candidates must note that these seats are other than those offered through CSAB-2016, which is for NITs, IIITs & GFTIs.
