NATIONAL LEVEL ONLINE/OFFLINE TEST
Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main is the national level entrance exam for admissions into the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and the NITs, IIITs and other CFTIs. Those who have passed or are appearing in the class XII examination are eligible to apply for JEE Main. JEE Main consists of two Papers, Paper 1 for BE/B.Tech and Paper 2 for B.Arch/B.Plan courses. JEE main is conducted in both online and offline mode, however paper 2 is conducted in offline mode only.
Paper 2 is conducted for students who are looking forward to taking admission in B.Arch/B.Planning courses. It is conducted in paper-pen based mode only. JEE Main Paper 2 (B.Arch./B.Planning) is being conducted on April 02, 2017 from 2:00 to 5:00 PM.
CBSE conducts JEE Main Paper 2 for admission to undergraduate programs in Architecture and Planning at IITs and other central funded technical institutions. The Council of Architecture prescribes the syllabus and pattern of the JEE Main paper 2.
The exam contains questions related to architecture, and drawing. So, the students need to have an idea about the related topics and exam pattern for JEE Main Paper 2. It will cover 3 sections including Mathematics, Aptitude Test and Drawing test. JEE Main Paper 2 Exam Pattern 2017 will provide details about the type of questions that come in the paper of JEE Main, marking scheme, topic and chapter-wise distribution of questions, time duration of exam, mode of the exam, etc.
JEE Main Paper 2 will cover 3 subjects including Mathematics, Aptitude Test and Drawing test. It will be 3 hours duration exam. Mathematics section will have 30 objective type questions having weightage of 120 marks. Aptitude Section will consist of 50 objective type questions of 200 marks. Drawing test will be a test having 2 questions for 70 marks on topics of Memory and 2D design. For attempting this section candidates will be given a separate drawing sheet attached to the answer sheet. Negative marking will be applicable only to objective type questions. 1 mark will be deducted for each wrong response.

The candidates who want to pursue B.Arch in the two IITs- IIT Roorkee and IIT Kharagpur, have to appear for a spate test, AAT (Aptitude Awareness Test). The candidates who qualify in JEE Advanced are eligible to sit for AAT.
For admissions to institutes other than the IITs, JEE Main Paper 2 (B. Arch. / B. Planning) scores are taken into consideration.
JEE Main paper 2 is conducted in offline i.e. pen paper based mode. Candidates have two options for attempting the JEE Main question paper- English and Hindi. Although, for some states CBSE provides the option of attempting the question paper in the regional languages.
Candidates from Gujarat, Daman & Diu and Dadra & Nagar Haveli have the option to choose Gujarati as their language of the paper. Similarly, candidates from Maharashtra can choose Marathi and Urdu as their medium of question paper. For the rest of the cities, only English and Hindi are available as medium of paper.
The aptitude test can be written only in English language. You must carry your own Pen and colouring & drawing aids.
JEE Main 2017 is conducted for students who have passed or are appearing in class 12 exam and seeking admission in undergraduate (B.E./B.Tech, B.Arch/B.Plan) Programmes. So, question paper of JEE Main will cover the syllabus of class XI & XII, as prescribed by CBSE.
JEE Main Paper 2 consists of Mathematics, Aptitude test and drawing test. Aptitude test section comprises of 50 objective type questions. Aptiutude test basically consists of three parts- Part 1 and 2 have objective type questions, while part 3 is for drawing test. The syllabus as prescribed by CBSE for this section is as follows-
Syllabus for paper 2 is not specifically defined as it is for Paper 1. The above mentioned topics are the topics from which questions are generally asked in aptitude objective type section. Candidates are advised to bring pen, pencils, geometry box set, erasers and colour & crayons for the Aptitude and Drawing Test.

The best approach to prepare for the JEE Main exam is to combine board exam preparation with JEE Main preparations. Although the format is different, but the concepts remain the same. So for JEE main paper 2, candidates have to keep in mind the following important tips-
