CSAB (Central Seat Allocation Board) is considered to be the most important medium through which a candidate is allotted his/ her seat in the desired Institute. CSAB 2016 for SFTIs and NEUT will be organising this academic years counselling process for JEE Main 2016.
Government of India formed a Central Counselling Board (CCB). The board was formed in order to coordinate the admissions to the UG degree programmes in engineering, technology and architecture in various institutes till 2012. But in the year 2013, CCB and AIEEE was renamed as Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) and JEE (Mains) respectively. The CSAB for 2016 has been constituted with Director, National Institute of Technology Patna, as its Chairman.
For the academic year of 2016- 17, on the request of Self- Financed Technical Institutes (SFTIs) the Core Committee of CSAB in its meeting held in the month of June’16 proposed an offer. It was about holding a separate counselling for SFTIs to enable candidates at large to get seats in SFTIs.
The candidates should make sure that they are eligible for sitting in the CSAB SFTI 2016 by going through the CSAB SFTI 2016 Eligibility Criteria first. If the candidate qualifies then he/ she can then move forward to the next step.
The counselling for SFTIs will now be a separate counselling called as Central Seat Allocation Board – Self-Financed Technical Institutes (CSAB-SFTI) 2016 counselling. The CSAB-SFTI 2016 Counselling is a one round seat allocation process and will be held after JoSAA 2016 admission process as per the declared schedule and process.
CSAB-SFTI will admit candidates for Self-Financed Technical Institutes as per list of institutions given in ANNEXURE 1 on the basis of their All India Rank (AIR) in JEE Main 2016 to the first year of Engineering/Technology and Architecture/ Planning Programs through a centralized seat allocation procedure, for the academic session 2016-17.
The candidates should know that they will offered only one seat based on their choice and their JEE (Main) All India Rank (AIR) in Paper-I or Paper-II, as applicable. JEE (Main) AIR in Paper-I and Paper-II shall be considered for seat allocation in Engineering and Architecture/Planning, respectively. Allocation of seat will be done strictly on the basis of merit in order of preference of choices filled in by the candidates and availability of seats.
