NMAT 2017: All you need to know about the NMAT Retake

NMAT is conducted by GMAC (Graduate Management Admission Council), to give admission in Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies and other prestigious universities. The NMAT Participating Colleges offer 2 years of MBA program in Marketing, Finance, Operations and Decisions, Human Resource, etc. 
NMAT 2017 is a computer based objective type entrance exam of 2 hours in duration. NMAT 2017 test paper is divided into 3 sections viz. Quantitative Skill, Logical reasoning, and Language Skill. The sections are timely divided and the candidate has to complete each section within the predefined time limit.


NMAT 2017 Retake highlights

Candidates always have another chance of performing better in their NMAT Retake. They can work upon their mistakes that they committed earlier. We give you multiple notes, in case you plan to sit for an NMAT 2017 Retake. Read them below.

  • If any candidate wants to improve his/her NMAT score secured in the first attempt, they are given a chance to give the test again. A candidate may attempt NMAT 2017 Retake examination maximum three times including the first attempt.
  • To apply for NMAT 2017 retake, a candidate has to fill the form by using the previously allotted username and password (allotted when applied for the first time) and schedule the NMAT 2017 retake examination date.
  • If any candidate does not appear in the examination, it will be considered as “No Show” and the number of attempts will be reduced to two. Candidates can schedule the NMAT retake examination after 15 days of the commencement of the first attempt.
  • NMAT 2017 retake examination could be scheduled on any available date during the test delivery window. The availability of seat in NMAT 2017 retake examination in term of date, time, and test centre would depend on first come first serve theory.

When to apply for NMAT 2017 Retake test?

Candidates are required to secure more than the NMAT cutoff marks, to get admission in their desired course and college. The cut off mark changes every year, according to the trend a minimum of 215+ marks are considered to be a good score and the probability of getting admission in the desired course multiplies. It is advisable to be on safer side and excel in the competition, by going for an NMAT 2017 retake.

For the candidates who secure marks more than 205 but less than 215, should go for NMAT 2017 retake and on attempting 3-4 more correct questions the score will significantly improve and will put the candidate on the safe side. Candidates are advised to check their sectional scores and improve the section they are week at or have secured minimum marks in.

Score between 190 and 205 is considered as average score and the maximum number of candidates fall under this range. It is estimated that on attempting 10 more correct questions the score will raise to a good level. Candidates are required to work on their time management skill and practice mock test paper to improve their speed. Aspirants are advised to focus more on the sections they are week at. At this level candidates have to score at least 25 more marks to fulfil their desire of getting admission in the top listed colleges.

Less than 190 marks is a clear indication that the candidate needs to work really hard and with this score one cannot survive in the competition. On this score, candidates will not get any call from any college. Candidates are required to hon their basic skills and improve their time management ability as well. It is mandatory to attempt NMAT 2017 retake test for the candidates who have secured less than 190 marks otherwise they will not get any call.

It is very essential to keep in mind that before taking NMAT retake, one has to analyze the result very attentively and figure out the priority of sections as per the marks scored in each section.

Registration Date for NMAT 2017 Retake

Candidates can register themselves for NMAT retake test minimum after 15 days of commencement of the recent attempt. NMAT 2017 retake scheduling could begin from the first week of October, 2016 and continue till mid of December, 2016. A candidate may select a slot 24hours after scheduling the transaction.

Candidates have the facility to select the any date, time slot and centre of their choice from the available time slot and centres. This facility is provided to comfort the candidates so that they may focus on the examination properly.
