Expected NMAT Cut off 2017

NMAT cut offs have been quite regular over the years. NMAT has a total of 120 questions and a total of 360 marks. Out of these 360 marks, the cut off is usually 208 marks. Apart from the overall cut off, each of the three sections has an individual cut off that must be cleared. The cut off is usually the same as that of the previous year, give or take a few marks. Based on the previous year’s cut off, the cut off for NMAT 2017 should be around 208 – 210.

For NMIMS, the expected sectional NMAT cut off 2017 is given below:

NMAT 2016 Cut off

The cut off for the previous year (2016-2017) was 208 – 210. The cut off for this year can be assumed to be similar. Apart from the overall cut off, the candidate has to clear sectional cut offs as well.

The following table gives you Last year’s NMAT Cut off :

Full Time MBA Program - Sectional and overall NMAT cut off

Sectional Cut offOverall Cut off
Logical Reasoning
Language Skills (96)Quantitative Techniques (144)360

PGDM Bangalore and Hyderabad Campus – Sectional and overall NMAT cut off

Language Skills (96)Quantitative Techniques (144)360

By studying the previous year’s cut off, candidates can evaluate how high the cut off can go. This will help them prepare better, work on their weak areas, and increase their chances of getting selected.

An analysis of the NMAT 2016 questions show that the Quantitative Skills and Logical Reasoning sections were more or less at par with 2015 NMAT Questions Papers in terms of difficulty. However, the Data Interpretation section was more calculation based the before. The language skills section was also tougher. This shows the areas where the candidate should work on.

About NMAT Cut off

NMAT will be held from October 7 till  December 20, across 23 cities of India. NMAT cut off varies from college to college, as each participating college releases its independent cut off list. NMAT result, along with the NMAT cut off, will be available on the websites of the colleges, as well as in a call letter, that the candidates receive who are selected for the remaining steps of admissions. These include Group Discussion and Personal Interview.

The three sections, namely Quantitative Techniques, Logical Reasoning, and Language Skills have individual cut offs too. The cut off varies from category to category, and usually is similar to the previous year’s cut off.

As the colleges have limited seats, NMAT is a good way of selecting the best candidates from a sea of other candidates. Only those candidates who score more than or equal to the decided cut off shall receive the call letter for the further rounds such as GD and PI, apart from the colleges who do not release a cut off.

Factors affecting NMAT Cut off
