MAT 2017 September Notification

All India Management Association, AIMA New Delhi released important dates for September Session of MAT. The exam will be conducted in September, 2017. Registration Process is ongoing and the last date to apply for MAT is August 25, 2017. All Graduates with Marks above 50% in Bachelor’s degree are eligible to apply. MAT 2017 will be conducted in Online & Offline Mode. MAT Exam is conducted four times a year (February, May, September, and December). MAT result for the last session was declared on May 24, 2017.

  • Last date to complete Offline Regitration is August 23, 2017 and for Online Registration is August 25, 2017.
  • MAT Admit Card will be released after the end of registration i.e. August 26, 2017.
  • Offline MAT Test will be conducted on September 3, 2017 and Online MAT Test will be conducted on Septmber 9, 2017.
  • AIMA will release the MAT Result within a month post the successful conduct of MAT Exam.
  • On the basis of Result and MAT Cut off declared by the institutes, candidates will be shortlisted for the Selection Procedure.
  • The Selection Process vary with the Institutes’ and basically comprises of Group Discussions, Personal Interview and Written Ability Test.

MAT (Management Aptitude Test) is a standard aptitude test conducted in India since 1998 by the All India Management Association(AIMA). MAT is used for admission to Master of Business Administration (MBA) and allied programmes by over 600 business schools across India.


MAT 2017 Important Dates

MAT is conducted four times in a year i.e. January, May, September and December. A complete schedule of the details related to the Application form, Registration, Admit Card and Test for September session are as given below:

MAT 2017 Eligibility

For applying in MAT 2017, candidates must fulfill the following MAT Eligibility conditions to avoid any rejection:

  • Students who have passed Graduation degree in any of the streams like Science, Commerce and Arts from this university or any Government recognised University can apply for the examination.
  • Candidates pursuing the final year of graduation are also eligible to apply. They need to submit their graduation certificates on the date of admission.
  • Students should obtain minimum 50% marks in their graduation can apply for the test.
  • SC/ST category candidates will get 5% relaxation of marks in the eligibility.
  • There is no age restriction for the candidates to appearing in MAT 2017.
  • NRI candidates are also eligible to appear in the test

MAT 2017 How to Apply

MAT Application Process is available in both online and offline modes. The candidates can apply for admission by filling and submitting the complete application form along with important documents on or before the last date. Candidates can apply either use online or offline mode which is explained as below:

Online mode: Candidate can obtain and submit the application form online through the official website of AIMA. Students need to ready their necessary documents at the time of filling online application form.

Following are the steps for online registration:

  • Candidates must visit the official website of MAT 2017 and click on the “Apply Online” link.
  • Students need to fill their details and click on the Submit button.
  • After then upload the scanned copy of photograph and signature and made the payment using Debit/Credit or Net banking.
  • After fee submission, the candidates are advised to check their application status and take the printout of the submitted form.

Offline mode: Students can also obtain the application form from the study centres of AIMA office, Delhi on cash payment of prescribed fees and fill the form manually.

After filling up the application form, candidates must follow the below steps:

  • Candidates have to submit the offline/printed application form along with all the documents with DD/the proof of online payment submission.
  • There is no need to send the registration form if candidates register and paid the fees online but candidates are advised to carry registration form for reference.
  • Printout of the online registration form can be sent at AIMA which will be processed within five working days.
  • Candidate seat will be cancelled if the printout of application form received after the due date.

Documents Required

Following are the list of the documents required for filling online application form:

  1. Details of the candidate, guardians, qualification and address.
  2. Candidate’s latest passport size photograph with the light background in jpeg/jpg format of size 50kb.
  3. Scanned copy of candidate’s signature on white paper with black ink.
  4. Valid Email ID and Phone number
  5. Upload payment detail information.

MAT 2017 Application Fee

Following are the two payment modes through which application fees can be paid:

Online payment mode

  • Candidates can pay the application fees via online mode through Credit / Debit card or through Net Banking

Offline payment mode

  • Application fees can be paid through DD drawn in the favour of “All India Management Association” payable at Delhi from any bank
  • Fees can also be paid in cash if application form obtained from the study centres of AIMA

The total amount of application fees to be paid by the candidate is Rs. 1200/- and is same for all category candidates. An application fee submitted by the candidates is non-refundable.

MAT 2017 Exam Pattern

MAT is an objective type entrance test. MAT Exam Pattern is divided into 5 sections comprising of 200 Objective-type questions. The time duration of the examination is 2 hours and 30 minutes i.e. 150 minutes. In MAT 2017, every correct answer will be awarded 1 mark. However, for every incorrect answer, there will be the deduction of 0.25 or 1/4th marks. The candidate is advised to answer only the questions which he/she is sure to avoid the negative marking.

Test Modes

Offline test mode: It is also known as Paper Based test (PBT) and is held only on one day i.e. September 3, 2017. The test will be conducted in an OMR Answer sheet. Questions will be of multiple choices (MCQ) type and will be answered with the help of Pencil.

Online test mode: It is also named as Computer Based test (CBT). If the number of candidates is limited for Computer-Based test it can be done in one day. Candidates have to appear for the Paper-based test if few numbers of candidates register for the CBT in particular centre.
