MAT 2017 May Session Answer Key, Question Paper and Analysis

MAT 2017 was held on May 7, 2017 for the second time this year. Those who have appeared for it might be impatiently waiting for the results. But before that, an answer key is sought after for correct solutions.  MAT examination is held four times a year in month of February, May, September and December. 

  • MAT (May) 2017 Answer Key is a compilation of correct answers to all the questions asked in the examination.
  • Sequence of the appropriate responses in the key will be similar or you can say exactly same as that of the questions asked in the exam.
  • AIMA does not officially release the answer key for MAT nor does it mention or notify such information on its site.

MAT 2017 Unofficial Answer Key

MAT 2017 Answer Key will be made available in online mode only. Since AIMA does not release the answer key officially, many top coaching institutes release the answer keys of questions based on different sets.

  • Using the answer key, the candidates can draw an idea about their score and chances of seeking admission into various B-schools in India.
  • However, for MAT exam which was held online. It was practically impossible to draft the exact questions asked. Therefore, MAT (May) 2017 Answer Key is entirely based on memory-based question.

MAT (May) 2017 Question Paper

Duration of MAT (May) 2017 was conducted for 150 minutes where 200 multiple choice questions were asked by the students. All the questions carried equal marks, 1 mark will be awarded for each correct answer and there was a penalty of 1/4 marks for each wrong answer. Total maximum scaled score out of which percentile score will be awarded is 800.

There were 5 sections and 40 questions were asked from each of it.

MAT 2017 Paper Analysis

Candidates who appeared in MAT 2017 (May) should expect lower cut off in top MBA colleges. The exam had tricky Data Analysis and Sufficiency questions, whereas there were time consuming questions based on Intelligence and Critical Reasoning sections. The exam was held on May 7 from 10 AM to 12.30 PM. There was no surprise element in the test. It is expected that MAT result may report high percentile.

Management Aptitude Test (MAT) 2017 May exam was taken by an approximate number of 20,000 candidates. Test pattern remained more or less at the same difficulty level as was in MAT 2017 February exam.

Intelligence and Critical Reasoning

Intelligence and critical reasoning questions tested candidates’ ability to exercise their reasoning and logical abilities. The division of questions was as follows for each topic:

Mathematical Skills

Mathematical Skills section was purely based on the topics related to numbers and shapes. Candidates had to display their ability to deal with numbers, shapes and other mathematical concepts:

MAT 2017 Result

Candidates can check MAT 2017 results, after the test has been conducted, in the form of overall and sectional scores. For May session, it will be declared in the last week of May 2017. On the basis of MAT 2017 Result stude, ts will be shortlisted for the selection procedure. Aspirants can check the results by following the steps given below:

  • Visit the official website of AIMA.
  • Click on ‘MAT (May) 2017 Result’ tab.
  • Enter the login credentials obtained at the time of registration including, User ID and Password
  • Click on ‘Submit’
  • The result will be displayed on your computer screen.

MAT 2017 Cut Off

The participating institutes of MAT shortlist the test takers based on cut off marks decided by the conducting authorities for the selection procedure. MAT 2017 Cut Off can be either in the form of percentile or score. There are several factors which affect the formation of cut off list such as,

  • Total number of students who appeared for the test.
  • Reservation policy of the Institute.
  • Level of difficulty of the exam.
  • Previous year’s cut off scores/percentile.

On the basis of the cut off, candidates are called for counselling procedure. Those who will qualify shall be notified about the process via notification released on the official website.
