Ans. Classroom Coaching helped me a lot in CAT preparation. Apart from giving me the best CAT preparation tips, they also gave me free notes.
Ans. Biju Patnaik Institute of Information Technology and Management Studies.
Ques. Name the institute (online or classroom) from where you took coaching.
Ans. I took my coaching from T.I.M.E Institute.
Ans. I rate the coaching centers six out of ten in CAT preparation. But at the same time, I do not deny the fact that taking coaching classes help students in getting a better CAT Result.
Ans. I tried to attempt a full question paper every day, you will find on monster.com/naukri or online free test sites, in that way I have tried to move up my weakness to a stronger one. As I am not good in numbers so tried to work on that area mostly, mathematical part is too tough for me as well as other papers.
Ques. What were your strong and weak areas? How did you prepare and what special efforts did you put for improving your weak areas?
Ans. I think I am a bit good in English, but that doesn't mean that I ignored that paper. So the conclusion part is given 200% on the weak part and give 199% to your strongest part to make them for stronger.
Ans. A Coaching center plays a major role in your preparation for CAT, XAT, and MAT. In coaching center, you get a chance to practice the CAT syllabus every day as well as you can clarify your doubts easily. Coaching center provides you some question sheets, CAT sample papers and also they take various exams to simply check where you are standing right now compared to others.
Ques. How Would You Rate the Following Preparation Strategy in terms of their efficiency in your story?
|Coaching Classes||NCERT Text Books||Online Study Material||Coaching Printed Study Material||Mock & Sample Test Papers||Study Groups||Subject Wise Classes||Self-Study|
|Moderate||Moderate||Very High||High||High||Very High||Moderate||High|
Ans. CAT free mock test, My CAT Study.
Ans. I just started from basics as I was weak with numbers so I concentrated on the fundamentals then starts practicing every day. One of the most important things is to remember the shortcuts, formulae, tables and simple tricks. In the exam read the question carefully and try to have a glance before solving.
Ans. There are only 3 ways to learn anything Practice, Reading and Analyze. I did the same. Try to be good with calculations and learn shortcuts. Chapters to follow are Interest, Ratio, Proportion and Variation, Time and Work, Time, Speed and Distance and Applications of Time Speed and Distance.
Ans. Spend most of your time seeking to understand what is being asked, rather than jumping in and working on the answer. Practice hard and also another way, you can easily find many apps on your android mobile to practice logical reasoning.
Ans. I followed CAT Sample Papers with Solutions-jumbotest.com, ISTQB, CMAT, MH- CET, CAT free practice test, IIM-A, 99.99-CAT 2015, Prepare Online for CAT, GATE, IBPS, Bank PO Exams, IIT JEE.
Ans. Data Interpretation & Data Sufficiency by How to Prepare for Data Interpretation for CAT by Mr. Arun Sharma.
Ans. There are many books for CAT in the market, but many of my friends and I used few books like:
1.How to Prepare for Quantitative Aptitude for the CAT by Arun Sharma we are a bit biased about Mr. Arun Sharma as many CAT students follow him.
2. Quantitative Aptitude by R.S Agarwal is also a very good option.
3. Quantitative Aptitude Quantum CAT by Sarvesh Verma
Ans. How to Prepare for Logical Reasoning for CAT by Arun Sharma, How to Prepare For Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension for the CAT:
1. Reasoning Section 2. Logical 3. Verbal is the chapter I followed specifically.
Ans. Practicing for your verbal aptitude test and read Newspapers. You should also read books/articles, watch English movies it will help you.
Ans. There is not such particular book for grammar and vocabulary in my opinion. Try to read novels.
Ans. Actually there are no such particular books for verbal ability but you can follow How to Prepare for Logical Reasoning for the CAT Common Admission by Arun Sharma apart from this read, write English as much as you can.
Ans. Play some English learning games, read as much as possible and try to have English conversation every day.
Ans. OK, look it is better to focus on study then to think about any miracle. Just try to clear the basic fundamentals as early as possible, then to take mocks and fine tune your strategy. Try to solve various types of questions instead of same types of questions every day. Try to understand what your strong area is and work on that as well as give 200% on your weak areas. But mostly try to remember the shortcuts and easy ways to solve problems in exams.
Ans. For CAT 2017, I would just like to say that don't think too much now. In this phase you need to have some relaxation time also, apart from studies. Enjoying is equally important. After studying, you can listen to music and have a fun time with friends as well. Don't be stressed whatever the situation is, hope for the best, just believe in yourself and go for the best. Keep your mind away from tensions and fear. That's it.
Ques. How was the interview? Share some of the questions which you were asked.
Ans. The interview was good compared to that I had before, the interview process started with GD than HR round, after clearing the 1st round I got the chance to sit for Director round, technical round. After completion of all the rounds they took 3 days to announce the final list, fortunately I was also there on that list and have a chance to complete my masters in it. So the questions I have faced were like:
1. Tell me something about yourself?
2. How many colleges you applied till now for your MBA?
3. What is marketing?
4. Why do you want to join our college?
5. Who inspires you most to go for MBA?
6. Basic marketing questions?
7. Tell me something about your family?
8. Who is your role model and why?
9. Why MBA as you are a B.com student?
