  • SPJIMR shortlists the examinees for an interview on the basis of both CAT scores and their profiles.
  • Overall cut off for CAT and Sectional cut off ranges between 80 to 90 percentiles.
  • CAT Cutoff required for selection into the institute is more than 85 percentiles.
  • Sectional cutoff required is more than 75 percentile. 
  • Cutoff remains same for both General as well as reserved category.

About CAT Cut Off

CAT is a national level management exam for admission to various management courses which will be conducted in the month of November. Results for the same will be out by January and the cut off list for admissions is declared by various colleges in the form of percentile marks to qualify for the next round.

  • CAT cutoff comprises the sectional and overall cutoff.
  • Sectional cutoff refers to the minimum marks that a candidate needs to score separately in each subject to qualify whereas overall cutoff is the overall minimum marks of the candidate to qualify.
  • Next round to get admission generally involves a personal interview and group discussions.
  • Cut off list depends on various factors some of them are-
  1. Total number of candidates appearing for the test
  2. Marks scored by the candidates
  3. Average marks scored in CAT
  4. Difficulty Level of the exam in the year
  5. Availability of Seats

SP Jain Institute of Management and Research Selection Criteria

SP Jain shortlists the candidates on the basis of their profile further rounds conducted by the institute. Participants are also expected to meet the qualifying CAT Selection criteria.

There are several rounds for a candidate to qualify the selection criteria of the university. Here is a brief of it-

  • For PGDM
  1. Candidates are shortlisted on the basis of their profiles into two lists- Phase-1 and Phase-2
  2. Phase-1  candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of their profile whereas phase 2 shortlists on the basis of CAT Result.
  3. Procedure is taken forward by 2 round of group interviews
  4. Final merit list is prepared on the basis of composite score.
  5. The composite score includes marks from academic record, entrance exam score, relevance of work experience (if any), and performance in 2 rounds.
  • For PGPM
  1. Candidates are shortlisted on the basis of entrance exam score.
  2. Selected candidates are called for personal Interview.
  3. Final selection is on the basis of CAT scores, clear career plans, a sound purpose of taking up the program, etc.
  • For PGCIM
  1. Candidates shortlisted on the basis of CAT scores.
  2. Candidates are further called for Group Discussion and Personal Interview.
